Chapter 7 - I'm so sorry ✔

I've been ignoring Ethan for over two weeks now.

The day after that incident happened in History, he basically argued with me for minutes about how I should always take notice and shit.

Flashback

I walked into class, ten minutes late because I had to see the principal cause my mom had phoned the school. I had a note to show that I was at the principal's and exactly when I entered, Mr. Gates started bickering about how I'm always late for his lesson.

"Sir! I was at the principal's and I have a note to prove it!" I yelled at him while the classroom fell silent.

"Give me that," He snatched the note and quickly read it, crumbled it up in a ball and threw it in the trashcan and rubbed his temples.

You could tell that he hadn't gotten any sleep last night. He had dark bags under his eyes and his eyes were blood shot. He looked quite.. Scary looking.

"Just.. Get out of my sight Jenni," I saw Zoey and Jasons jaw drop when they heard him say that and I just stood there, not able to move.

"I SAID GET OUT!" He yelled so loud that I jumped.

I slowly walked out of the classroom and ran to the bathroom. All I could think was, what have I gotten myself into?

End of Flashback

I was in my usual spot, waiting for him to enter the classroom. Zoey was talking to some girl from front of the class. I think her name is Kate? Not sure.

When he walked in, Zoey ran to her chair and sat down. She is actually scared of him after the way he yelled at me.

He looks like shit. His hair is greasy, he has two week old stubble, his eyes are red and he has dark, black bags. He still wears his smart clothes but actually looks really sick.

"Sir, are you alright?" One girl asked him, while I stared at him with such sad eyes.

"Huh? Oh sorry, it's just I've been really stressed about loads of things right now, don't worry about me," He said really fast. You could tell that he's practically living on coffee.

He looked through loads of papers to search for the attendance sheet and groaned when he couldn't find it. Opening loads of files and looking through his desk drawers.

"Where the fuck is it?" I heard him mutter under his breath. Everyone ignored his swearing, but still some girls were quite worried and scared, while the guys were just surprised by the state he was in.

I got up from my seat and called for Ethan. "Mr. Gates," Ignored. "Mr. Gates!" Ignored again. "MR. GATES!" I yelled, finally catching his attention.

The colour in his eyes changed. From looking worned out and sick, I could just see .. love.

"Y-yes Ms. I-Irvine?" He needs to stop with the coffee.

"Can't you see that you're sick? You need to get some help," I said in a soothing tone.

He nodded simultaneously and slowly packed his things up. His desk was full of papers so me and Zoey decided to go and help him out.

He had loads of papers marked A and F from our History assignment. I found mine and had A+ marked on it. I smiled to myself and continued to arrange them. Quickly placing them in a file he had taken them out from, Zoey ran for our backpack's and held them while she helped me take him to the parking lot.

"Can someone go report this?" Zoey asked and students practically jumped from their seats to get out from class.

"He can't drive in this state!" Zoey told me as we arrived in the parking lot. Well I can drive him since I know where he lives.
