I shouldn't have... It was not a good idea to let her in.
I knew she was lying when she fronted looking for a dvd. She was always falling asleep during movies. I knew this much since I was the one keeping her awake every time.
I snapped, once again. And I seriously wished she left. But she didn't. She didn't even get mad or slap for all the crap I threw at her face. She just stayed and touched me. Just like she did on that day she found out about my weakness. She just gave me her warmth... And that was all I needed.
I held her in my arms and I immediately felt better. It was now undeniable that this girl had some kinda weird power on me. No matter how fucked up my head was, she was the only thing capable to soothe my soul.
If she stayed a little more, I would have ended up kissing her and lost sight of reality. And the reality was that she was no longer my girl and I was no longer her man.
I received a call, shortly before she showed up, from Mike. I didn't pick it up.
Up until then, Mike and Sarah had been the only two persons I was able to talk to. But Sarah was trying to get me on the father's side and Mike... Well... For some reason I couldn't face him at the moment.
The only person I could bear with was her. And fuck... I was craving for her presence.
She texted me while I was smoking on the roof, and asked me where I was. I texted her back to go check where I always was whenever she looked for me.
She appeared a few minutes earlier, cute as ever in her white skinny jeans and her black cropped top. Her hair was let down in a mess , and I found her sexier than ever at that instant.
"What up player?" She said while jumping in the chair next to mine.
"Alright gettho girl. You seem to be in a good mood..."
"It's payday today! I'm literally ballin'"
"With your $1,500 before taxes?"
"Yep, paid my tuition and rent for the month"
"Thank god for small things!"
"Amen brother"
I smiled for the first time in days. Man, I missed those moments we had on that roof. It felt like years since we had a moment like that together.
"Where's Sarah?"
"She had a modeling job tonight"
"Is she alright with me and you hanging out here?"
"Didn't ask. Why? Did you ask Mike before?"
"Nah... You're right"
She looked at me for a few second and suddenly grabbed my hand to get the blunt I was smoking.
"What are you doing?" I laughed.
"Having a good time"
She took a hit and tried to hold it but ended up chocking, as expected.
"Man, that's nasty!" She coughed.
"Then why you took it in the first place?" I said, amused, while taking the blunt back from her.
"Out of curiosity"
"You used to don't trust what I was smoking"
"Well... Things change, right?"
"I guess..."
She looked at the horizon and sighed.
"You know... I missed that. Sitting here, talking... Making fun of each other..."
