Okay, hi!
So I just want to tell you all that when I started writing this, I had no idea how the school system in the UK works, and that shows. I'm still not quite sure about it tbh, it's rather confusing. But just go with it, it shouldn't matter.

Now, read and enjoy! (:

•••••••••••••••••

I was awoken from my daydream by the school bells ringing, signalizing that the school day had just come to an end, and the summer vacation just begun.

The 18th summer of my life has finally arrived, and my first 13 years of education all done with. That is, after the concluding graduation ceremony this evening, but you get the point.

And how am I going to spend this summer, you may ask? I honestly have no idea. Like seriously, not one single idea. Well, maybe one, but it's a particularly vague one. You see, my mum has got me a summer job; she won't tell me where it is, what I'll be doing or for whom I'll be working. All she tells me when I ask her about it is that I'll enjoy it and that it'll be a good experience for me, and it seems to be a genuine belief of hers.

You may ask why I would take a job that I don't know anything about? Well, why not? My best friend is going to spend her whole summer in France, so I can't spend it with her. Then there's also the need for a larger fund, thus a summer job. I am namely off to University when the summer concludes. That is, if my final A levels results are good enough.

And who am I? My name is Ella, short for Elizabeth Autumn Sanderson. I'm not one of the popular girls, but I get on well with most people. Some might say I'm a bit shy, but I'm quite alright once I get comfortable with someone.

I pack my bag, walk out of the school and to the school bus. I've never really liked the bus. When I get on it in the morning it's usually full, or almost all the seats are taken. This means I either have to stand or sit with someone I don't really know. Before you judge me, let me tell you something. I'm not one of those girls who hate people. But when people have occupied the seat next to them with their bag I feel like I annoy them if I ask to sit next to them.

I take a seat in the front of the bus, because for some reason the seats in the back always get taken first. This is the last time I take the bus, the last time I leave my school. Well, except for the graduation ceremony tonight of course. Someone sits down beside me in the seat right before the bus starts moving. After about ten minutes of driving the bus comes to a stop. That's where I go off and start walking the two minutes walk to my house.

I open the door to the house and walk into the kitchen where my mother is sitting by the table.

"Hey mom." I say and take a seat on the other side of the table.

"Hi Ella, how was the last day of school?" She asks as she looks up from the paper.

"Um, as usual, nothing special really." I say and grab a green apple from the bowl on the table.

"But are you going to tell me about the job now? You know, since school is over now." I ask excited. I may not know what the job is, but I've got this feeling telling me it's something good. And then it's also going to be my first real job. I've had a few small jobs, but I don't think any of them are anything like this one. Then again I don't even know what this job is so I don't really know.

"You'll have to wait and see." She answers with a smirk on her face.

"But please, pretty pretty please!" I beg her, but it doesn't seem to change her mind as she just turns the page.

"You'll know it just in time." She says. "But as for right now, you've got a graduation ceremony to attend tonight and I think you should get ready for that."
