I walked down the stairs on my way to Simon’s office. I knew where it was, even though I had only been in there once. The day I arrived. Simon had told Paul to tell me to come to his office to talk about my service for them this summer. I was nervous about it, not because I thought I had done a bad job, but because I didn’t want it to end.

I reached the door with his name on it and raised my hand slowly before knocking carefully on the door, then waiting for a reply.

“Liz, honey.”

I heard the voice and his words, but I couldn’t understand why he would be there. He should be in the studio with the other boys, recording songs. The voice didn’t come from Simon’s office, so I turned around to face him, but he wasn’t there either.

“Niall?” I asked as I searched every inch of the hall for any sign of him, but to no avail, he was nowhere to be seen.

“You have to wake up now.” I heard his voice again, and that’s when I woke up to a feeling of something stroking over my cheek, and when my eyes finally opened slowly I discovered two blue eyes looking down at me. “It’s dinner.” Niall told me, his voice low and soft and a smile on his face.

“How long did I sleep?” I asked him as I rubbed my eyes, and Niall removed his hand from my face. He was currently sitting on the edge of the bed, and he didn’t look very tired, so I assumed he had been awake for a little while longer than me. That is, if he even slept.

“Nearly two hours, it’s half 8 now.” He answered me as he stood up and I sat up on the bed as my eyes searched the room for a clock. Was it really already half 8? “Come on now, the others are waiting for us.”

I returned my gaze to Niall, and then got off the bed. He left the room when he was sure I was following him, and we walked out into the hall and headed for the kitchen.  We could already hear the boys when we started on the stairs, but their loudness was something I had gotten used to early in the summer.

“Niall, wait.” I said when we reached the end of the stairs and he turned to look at me questioningly. “Do I look okay?”

“You look fine, don’t worry.” He answered me with a smile before he took my hand in his and led me into the kitchen where the others already were gathered around the dining table. There were two seats left, but they weren’t next to each other, so Niall let go off my hand, and while he went to sit down on one of the chairs, I went to sit on the other.

“So you’re finally awake.” Louis said as I got seated, and as soon as I got settled I looked up at him with a small smile on my face. I wasn’t sure whether Niall had told them I was asleep or if any of them had been up in his room and seen it themselves.

“I was tired after the guitar lesson.” I told him as I watched Niall serve himself with the food, something the others had already done, because they had all started eating.

“Guitar lesson.” Harry mumbled, and then let out a small huff, but I knew everyone had heard it, because everyone went silent. If Harry hadn’t told the others yet, they were probably wondering what he meant with it. But if he had told them, I didn’t understand why they would go quiet. Whatever the reason was, Harry’s words still got me blushing.

“What are you implying Harry?” Liam asked after a couple of seconds, and I tried to act as I was unfazed by his words as I served myself with food, once I noticed Niall was finished.

“We weren’t really doing anything else…” Niall informed the others before Harry got the chance to answer, and then added a few more words. “…until you barged in, and that was it.”
