I could feel his hot breath against my face as he slowly leaned closer to me. Everything and nothing went through my head at that point and I eventually started moving my face towards his without even noticing it myself.

Our faces were only inches apart, but they weren’t going to get any closer, because in the next moment I heard a door slam shut.

“Oh god, you scared me Zayn, there’s no need to slam the door.” Louis’ voice echoed through the house and both Niall and I had our heads turned towards the hallway.

“I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to, it was the wind.”

Niall stepped back removing his hands from the counter as he tried to see if he could see them from the kitchen and I took the chance to jump off the counter and started walking towards the stairs.

“Liz, wait…” Niall said, it wasn’t very loud, but it was loud enough for me to hear it. I had just passed the doorway between the kitchen and the hall and was just about to turn around to face Niall when they saw me.

“Ella, hi, out of your room I see.” Louis said and I couldn’t do much but give him a small smile. I was still in a daze after what happened in the kitchen.

“Hi, and um, yes I am.” I answered him and then let my gaze sink to the bags from the grocery store. “You’re home early; I thought you were going out to eat.” I said when I finally managed to collect myself again and tried to pretend as if nothing had happened.

“We were, but then we thought that it would be nicer to just order some pizzas and eat home with you and Niall.” Liam answered as he started walking my way, probably going to the kitchen with the groceries.

“Speaking of Niall…” Harry said standing up after untying his shoes and taking them off. “Is he still up in his room?”

“No, he’s-“More didn’t I get to say before Liam entered the kitchen and noticed Niall.

“Hello there Niall, he’s in here Harry.”

“Would you help us with the groceries Ella, please?” Louis said motioning to a bag and I gave him a nod as I started walking towards it.

“Louis didn’t think you’d talk to him while we were gone.” Zayn said as I passed him and I just laughed.

“Why not, I needed some help with the guitar.”

“Well, you didn’t seem quite eager to follow my advice before we left.” Louis said and handed me the bag, but didn’t let go of it. “What happened?” He whispered as soon as the others also were in the kitchen.

“What do you mean, nothing happened.” I could hear the others from the kitchen currently talking about hot chocolate. “Or well, something happened, he just helped me, that’s all.”

“Are you sure, because you seemed kind of distracted when you came out of the kitchen?” He let go of the bag and I just nodded slowly. The truth was that I wasn’t sure. I didn’t know what had happened, whether Niall actually was going to kiss me, or if he was going to tickle me. The only thing I know was that his face was way closer to my face than it normally was.

“Everything’s fine Louis.” I said and carried the bag with me into the kitchen where the others were.

“You’ll have to drink hot chocolate later Ella, we were thinking that we should order the pizzas now and then eat.” Liam said as I set the bag down in front of him since he was putting groceries into the refrigerator.

“And besides, you didn’t exactly come far, you only boiled the water.” Zayn added pulling the plug out of the outlet as Niall emptied the kettle.
