The Pillars (Pt. 2): The Story of Solomon

Even if I had just returned to earth, a lot of questions filled my mind. I couldn't sleep for days and even if I was with Laila things just didn't add up to me. Days went by and my son came and went as he pleased, no matter how much I tried to have a conversation, it was evident that he hated me with all his might.

All I wanted was to come home and maybe start over again but my past always seems to follow me, chains bringing me down.  I tried to talk to God but so far he's silent. I've thought about what Malphas said and I often wondered what more he had to say...

I want to summon him.

I need answers.

Michael and Gabriel won't talk and right now God is keeping silent.

I know I shouldn't take matters into my own hands but I'm desperate.

"Taehyung? Hello?"

Hmm?

I looked up. "Is something the matter?"

"What's going on with you? You're so quiet now and all you do is sit here and zone out" Laila said. "Who's the matter honey?"

I sighed heavily.

"I just feel like everyone is keeping secrets from me..." I said.

Guilt was what filled her eyes.

The type of look where you try to keep calm but the look in your eyes gives it away.

"Laila...Before everything happened I already felt like I didn't belong. Then you came along and changed it all, I thought maybe things would change but then all this craziness happened. I died and I came back but...with what purpose? My family isn't a family, my wife isn't the wife she was. My son..." I trailed off for a momeny. "My son despises me and is on the wrong path. What am I to do? What do I believe?"

"Taehyung..."

"Laila, what happened while I was gone? Why does Damian hate me so much?"

She sighed.

"Damian became this way when he turned 13. Before, he was the sweetest and most loving little boy but it all seemed to change in an instant" She said.

"Where the hell were Michael and Gabriel? What about my dad? He's a human now, why?" I asked.

"I can't answer that. You should ask him about that and as for the archangels....I don't know what to say. You need to ask them not me" She answered.

I looked at her. "Laila...Is there something you want to tell me? Are you hiding something too?"

Her eyes widened a little.

"Taehyung.. I-"

"Tell me the truth...Laila, please." I pleaded.

I want to know...I need to know.

"I'm not hiding anything from you" She stated.

"Promise me. Promise me on everything that you're not" I said.

"I...I promise" She said as she stroke my cheek with the back of her hand. "I'd never keep anything from you"

She's lying...

I slightly smiled and nodded.

"Okay.."

"I'll get dinner started" She said with a smile. "Anything in particular you want?"

I shook my head.

"Everything you make is delicious" I said.

She smiled at me.
