Stiles pushed himself up onto the bathroom sink, eyeing her with a guilty expression. She held out an ice pack for him and prepared the first-aid kit beside him. "Put it on your eye. It'll help the swelling." He gingerly placed it over his eye as she finally lifted her gaze to him. "I can't believe you'd do something like that."
"I had to," He murmured. She held up a swab and began gently dotting it across the mark over his cheek. "God, what is that?" He winced as the dull throbbing quickly became a hot, burning sensation.
She ignored him. "No, you didn't. They're werewolves, Stiles."
"Yeah and he's a hunter. He knows how to kill them."
She dropped the swab into the trash and swiftly moved to grab the ointment. "You don't know if he was going to kill them or not. They had a better chance at surviving than you." He watched her squeeze a bit of ointment on her finger and carefully dot it over his broken lip. "Don't lick your lips," She told him curtly.
"No, they didn't. He wasn't going to kill me. Hunters don't kill humans. They kill the supernatural." He sighed. "And I'm the farthest thing from supernatural there is."
She paused and knew that tone all too well. "Stiles," She began, pausing to wipe the ointment from her fingers. Being sure to touch is less-injured cheek, she gently caressed it with her thumb. "Being like Scott wouldn't solve anything. You being human saves your life in ways you probably don't even think of." Stiles opened his mouth to speak but she continued. "It doesn't matter that you don't have superhuman senses. You still save everyone's lives somehow."
"You saved Erica's and Boyd's today, didn't you?" Stiles slowly nodded. "Did you have any powers tonight?"
"No, but I got a few pretty good bruises because of that reason."
She traced her thumb up his jaw. "And they'll heal. Stop convincing yourself that being supernatural is some special thing because it isn't. You're you - you're Stiles. Stiles, the human - the one that I fell for."
His own hand rose to angle her chin higher, enough to crash his lips onto hers. He ignored the pain in his split lip - she was worth the pain.
He didn't need to be a werewolf to have an anchor. His was standing right in front of her.
