"Scott, I've been in Beacon Hills for a week, a week," You went on, "And I come back to find out that my cousin– you, are a True Alpha, Lydia is a Banshee and Stiles was possessed by some evil spirit?"
"Pretty much," Stiles muttered, giving you a grin and a thumbs up, "You miss a lot when you move across the world for a few years."
"Don't forget about me, I'm your cousins Beta, y'know." Liam stated proudly, a large smile plastered on his face.
"Yeah, whatever." You mumbled with sass, seeing Liam's smile quickly fade. You let out a heavy sigh and trekked up the hill the three of you were currently going up for some unknown reason – something about finding a hole of some sort.
You followed behind lazily, kicking around some twigs and walking up the endless hill. You realized you didn't hear anymore of Stiles' rambling and looked up to see there was no one in sight. Almost instantaneously you began panicking because you knew it wasn't good to be out here alone – especially since you'd just found out about all the supernatural creatures that could be lurking around.
"Scott, Stiles?" You yelled, your heart beat spiraling out of control. You ran up the hill as fast you could. Before you stumbled forward on a root of a tree and acquaint your face with the floor, you were caught from behind.
"Are you okay? Your heart beat is insane." You got up and looked up at the young Beta that just saved your ass from a terrible bruising.
"Thanks, I'm fine. Well, now I am." You muttered awkwardly with a smile, realizing you had been a tad bit rude to him earlier, prying off the dried leaves adhered to your knees.
"It's no problem." He smiled back, looking adorable.
"I'm sorry for being rude earlier, it was just – you know, all the supernatural stuff," You looked everywhere, avoiding any eye contact, "It's a lot to take in."
"I get it, nothing to worry about." He stated, killing you with kindness.
"Hey, how come you were so focused on my heartbeat?" You giggled, his cheeks graced with a bright shade of red.
"No reason." He spat, looking around awkwardly.
"Kids, come on!" Stiles stood a fair distance away, waving his lanky hands in the air. The both of you looked at each other and laughed, but still followed nonetheless. You settled on sticking together for the rest of the night.
"Oh, yeah, my name's Liam."
"Y/N."
