Sometimes things don't go the way they're suppose to. The one day it's suppose to be sunny, it rains. The one time the urge to go out is present, the plans are canceled. That's just how life goes.
The situation between her and Theo was the same thing. In the beginning, neither wanted nor needed the baggage of an exclusive relationship. In the end, one of their mindset's had differed.
"You seriously think the Steelers are better than the Packers, seriously?"
Theo laughed. "Well, yeah!" She pushed herself up from his chest to look at him. He couldn't be serious - there was no way in hell. Luckily, the amusement twinkling in his eyes gave it away.
"You're so lucky. I was about to start naming off every Superbowl the Packers won and their records to you." It was true that she couldn't flip and cheer but she could argue with a six-foot football player about what the better team is.
Theo lifted his hand to brush his thumb across the purple marks dotted across her collarbones. "I know, you've done it before." She smiled and could easily remember when they had first met. It'd been years ago at a school football team when she had overheard him bragging about the Superbowl and how he had thought the Packers had cheated against the Steelers. She still remembered the look on his face when she chewed him out in front of all of his friends.
Now, here they were. Silence settled between them but neither of them minded. It was comfortable - being with each other. They could both sit together in silence and talk for hours. That's why she liked spending so much time together.
When he spoke, she couldn't have been more off guard. "I think I'm in love with you." First, she swallowed. Then she looked around. She wanted to say something - anything. Thankfully, he spoke for her. "Hey, hey." She could feel his hands rubbing up and down her arms, to comfort her. "That doesn't mean that any of this has to change, okay? I mean, I'd like it to but it doesn't have to."
Her mouth felt dry. "Why?"
"I don't know. I know our agreement was that if any of us wanted, we could see other people and end this. That neither of us were allowed to get feelings but-," he sighed and brushed a hand through his hair. "I couldn't help it."
I think I'm in love with you. The words that managed to shake her world.
It took two months for her to wrap her mind around the fact that he loved her. He promised her all the time she needed and that he'd be there in the end no matter how she felt.
In the end, she couldn't deny the fact that she had caught feelings for him too.
So here she was. Nervously bouncing on her feet and waiting for him to pull up. She wasn't sure how to go about it - they had never done anything but hug in public. Was she really ready for this?
When she caught the sight of his car, she couldn't help but sprint towards him. She could feel the stares of others but at this point, she didn't care. The feeling in her heart didn't come around anyone else. He caught her with ease as her lips slammed so hard against his, their teeth clinked together. She slowed the pace, one of her hands reaching up to caress his cheek. When she pulled away, she smiled. "I think I'm in love with you too."Originally posted by prettyobrien on tumblr!
