You sat on the couch in the loft, absently flipping through a magazine your boyfriend had left on the coffee table. Derek was out getting take away from a diner in town, brining home dinner for you and Liam, who had been staying with you and Derek for almost 6 months now but you had known him for much longer. You always helped Liam out with homework, his shifts and any other problems he had. You cared a lot for him, treating him like a son. He was at lacrosse practice, and had texted you that he would be back late because coach was making them do fitness instead of skill training. You offered to drive and pick him up, but he told you to stay at home and hold the fort. You checked your watch, ready to go looking for Liam as his training had ended almost an hour ago. You stood up when you heard the front door slide open, revealing a slumped Liam. Standing in the shadow and leaning heavily against the frame made alarms ring in your head, thinking Liam was hurt. You rushed over to him. "Liam? What's wrong?" You said, he stepped into the light, revealing his sweaty body. You quickly scanned his body, looking for injuries. "I'm fine Y/N, just exhausted." He dropped his bag, closing the door behind him. You could see heavy bags under his eyes, making him look so much older than he was. You pulled him in for a tight hug, grateful he wasn't hurt. "You should've called me, I would've picked you up." You said, feeling concerned for Liam. "I didn't want to bother you." Liam said, swaying lightly on his feet. You slung his arm over you shoulder, taking his weight as you lead him over to the couch. "Down you go baby boy." You said as you lowered him onto the couch, making him lie down. You placed one of the pillows under his head as he snuggled closer into the couch. "Go to sleep." You whisper, brushing Liam's hair out of his eyes and away from his forehead, the familiar gesture comforting him. "I'll be here when you wake up." Liam's eyes began to close, exhaustion finally taking over. "Thanks Mom." He whispered as he drifted off to sleep. You paused running your hand through his hair, shocked for a second before continuing to comfort him. Little did you know Derek had seen the exchange between you and Liam. Smiling as he saw his beautiful girlfriend act to motherly towards one of his betas. Derek loved the sweet smile that came to your face when Liam called you Mom.
