Alex POV

I stalked towards the girl, I was going to try to not hurt her physically, mentally  ? Not so much.
Again I was going to try not hurting her I never made any promises.
Anyway physical pain is no match for mental pain, trust me I would know.

I felt hundreds of eyes on me watching me every move, the girl, which I learned her name was Gabby stood in her ground she didn't even try to hide her fear.
She was visibly shaking, and was looking at the ground, like she was waiting for the hits that I wasn't going to diliver.

"Give me one fucking reason not to kill you right now" I snarled at her clenching and unclenching my fists.

"I d-don't h-have o-one, Y-you h-have e-every r-right t-to"she stuttered out, she wasn't looking at me.

"I understand that you're mate died, you have all my condolences but that doesn't give you a right to go around kissing other people's mates" I snapped at the end

She whispered something so lowly that even my wolf hearing didn't catch it, it was something on the lines of  'I wish I died instead of him'

This made me loose a little of my temper.

"What did you say?" I asked with a softer voice but I still had a snap with it.

"N-nothing" she said to quickly.

I opened my mouth to say something but Sienna stopped me.

"What's the matter" I said

"We don't learn from talking, we learn from listening,so when you're listening   to somebody completely, attentively, then you are listening not only to the words, but to the feeling of what is being conveyed to the whole of it, not part of it " was all she said before she blocked me out

I looked at the girl shaking in front of me, she rubbed her hand on her other forearm making her sleeves tug up, something caught my attention on her arm and she quickly pulled her sleeves down.

I glanced around me at the members and found myself pulling Gabby gentle inside with me.

The pack was shocked by my action and some of them even made a move to come with me but I gave them a look and they stayed behind.

I lead Gabby to the game room and sat  on the couch staring at her.

"Why didn't you kill me?" She asked me still not looking at me, I chuckled at that.

"I'm not going to lie I want to so badly, but my wolf told me to listen and that's what I'm going to do" I informed her, she looked up at me probably confused of how my tone changed.

"Tell me " I said and surprisingly she did.

She told me how her mother died years back and her father blamed her for it all, he was abusive to her mentally and physically, this explains the scars I saw earlier on her arm. Sbe said when she found her mate he saved her from her father's beating,  they were at his pack so her father couldn't hurt her. But then her father came to 'visit' her at that pack when her mate wasn't around, so he beat her again and this time her mate came on time and he saved her again. But it caused him to loose his life for her. She said her father killed her mate in front of her eyes and he was about to do the same to her but he didn't. He took her and locked her in a cabin in the middle of the forest so people thought she killed herself, but she ran away and here she is.

"I don't know what to say, I wasn't expecting that" I told her truthfully, making her chuckle a little,her lips formed into a sad smile,and she still wasn't looking at me, her gaze were locked on her shoes.

"Gabby look at me" I told her but she didn't do as I said

"Look at me Gabby" I said softly this time

She did as I said and looked at me, that's when I noticed her bright blue eyes.

"You really are a strong person you know that" I told her and she chuckled and diverted her gaze back to her shoes

"Seriously I mean it you really impressed me " I stood up and gave her a hug, she tensed up at first but hesitatly wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm really sorry for what I am about to say, but this doesn't mean I forgive you for kissing my mate" I warned her

"It's okay I know it's not going to be easy, but I will try to earn your trust" she said pulling out of the hug

I nodded my head at her and we parted, I went back outside to find the party almost over, Megan and Jonathan were talking to familiar faces. Then a thought crossed my mind.

I went behind Meg and whispered  in her ear:

"Did you tell him?" I asked her, She shook her head

"What are you waiting for ?"

"I don't know"

It's time I take the maters into my own hands, I stood up and the small stage placed in the corner of the garden, I cleared my throat and everyone's gaze was on me.

"Excuse me, my best friend and your beta's mate has something really important to say" I said looking at Megan who was glaring at me.
Megan turned to face Jonathan and she fumbled with her fingers.

"I'm pregnant " she said it was just above a whisper.

Jonathan's face broke into a huge grin and he wrapped his arms around Megan twirling her as she giggled, he crashed his lips on hers and everyone broke in cheers, I cracked a small smile at the sight.
In a pack it's really important when a female is pregnant, it is what helps the pack grow.

I felt his gaze on me and I looked around the crowd looking for him, Damon had a sad smile on his face while he was looking at me, when he realize I caught him staring, he didn't divert his gaze, no he just kept looking at me while diffrent emotions flashed in his eyes, making my legs feel like jelly.

The only question in my head was:

Can I stay mad at him ?
