Ginny's POV
I smiled to myself as I felt the rhythm of his breathing steady, finally falling asleep. I looked up at the ceiling, laying in his arms. He shifted and pulled me on top of his chest. I laughed quietly, laying my face beside his heart, feeling it's thuds. He smirked ever so slightly before drifting off again. I waited another hour staying just like that. After his clock ticked to the next hour I slowly untangled myself from his arms so I could let him rest more peacefully, but he caught my hand, not letting go, his eyes still closed. "Don't go..." He muttered drowsily. I laughed and slowly walked back over. "You would sleep much better with me not taking up all that room." He raised his eyebrows, his eyes still closed. "And what makes you think you can just leave whenever you feel like it?" I rolled my eyes as he tugged me towards him, smirking softly, still a little sleepy. "I didn't know you could look so peaceful." He snickered, "why do you say that weasley?" I smiled. "You looked peaceful when you sleep. There are no worry lines at the sides of your eyes, there's no smirk to hide any pain. There's no nervous flinches in your arms when I walk by, sometimes you even softly smile when your having a dream." Draco opened his eyes and pulled me closer. "You've seen me smile before. You are funny, I was just kidding earlier. Plus, I like being around you, so it brings me comfort. When I hold you, I feel more...secure." He gave a half smile and kissed my forehead before softly pushing my head down to the pillow, and then places his chin on the top of my head, his arms engulfing me. "You smirk more than you smile." I pointed out as I curved my back against his stomach. I felt his figure tighten when I mentioned the smirking think again. "I smile, you just don't pay attention." He said defensively. I shrugged, "it doesn't count if I can't see it." He nodded slightly muttering something under his breath. "I can't make out what your saying." I said and I turned over laying up against his chest. He sighed, "I said...if the smiled that you can't see don't count then neither does the frown hidden under smirks." His mouth twitched upward but he couldn't quite make the smile reach his eyes. "Care to explain that further?" I asked, trying not to sound too nosy. He tightened his grip around me and inhaled the scent of my hair. "Just the war gets to me sometimes, and when you drop your smile it's a little harder for me to cover up mine, and back to the subject of me not smiling, I do to smile! Your just to stubborn to admit it." He nudged me playfully, obviously trying to change the subject, and since it has switched to my fake smiles, I decided to take the bait for a new conversation. "Name five times you've laughed/smiled involving me."
He sighed and shook his head, smirking slightly before starting to list them. "The movie theaters, with the little girl. The beach for that matter, when I was chasing you, on the pitch, when you made the shot. Sometimes you make the cutest faces when I embarrass you. I laughed for a good long while when I was hanging out with you and Mione in an empty classroom the other day. The first time you kissed me. That time at the dance with the music, the time where we sang into each others arms about the stupidest song ever. Christmas was extremely fun, when you opened your present and hugged me tighter than you've ever done before. The time we got locked into a broom closet. When I looked at the drawing you made, also it was amusing and pleasureful when you blushed in the mirror when you had no clothes on. When we flung mash potatoes on each other. When we went to the prefects bathroom and you slipped when you were sitting on me. And you starting freaking out..." Draco smiled sweetly as a tear rolled down his cheek as he sniffled. I was about to ask what was wrong but he just held up his hand in a stopping gesture, then pulled me close, "h-hey, it's going to be fine, look I'm fine you're fine. We're both fine. Shhhh." I said running my hands through his blonde locks. He shook as he cried harder. I just continually kissed his forehead and braided his hair loosely. I wanted to cry with him, then suddenly something clicke in my mind. This was what Draco felt every time I crawled into his arms. He always felt the need to hold me and comfort me, even when he couldn't fix the problem. If I started crying Draco would clog his feelings up again and comfort me. That was the definition of "being there" for someone. "I remember what it was like to be happy, it was a good feeling Ginny." He said miserably. I sighed trying not to let my voice shake. "The war was a huge toil on all of us and-" he pulled away from me and staring into my eyes, more desperate than I could understand. "You can't leave me Ginny." I was mildly confused but I didn't miss a beat bride replying. "Yes, I already promised you that." He shook his head. "No, I mean, don't move on from me. Don't go with some other guy. Please, if you want me to change just tell me..." The dreams...they had been about me. That's why he couldn't tell me. They were about me leaving him. I tried not to let my face drop as the weight of the reality slammed into me. He was hiding those fears from me, afraid they would come true. I laid his head in my lap and pulled softly at the strands of hair around his face before speaking. "Remember that time I accidentally said I love you, before we were dating?" He slightly smirked, nodding. "How could I forget." He remarked, grabbing my hand.Did you like it? Comment and vote and follow but please keep reading:)
