I didn’t belong with these people. I wasn’t a delinquent and I didn’t want to be. I was surprised how many people got fed up and left within the first hour, pretty soon Louis and I were the only ones left.
“Well you two I’m proud of you guys for staying. I trust that I can leave you for a few minutes I have to run to the faculty room, if I come back and you’re gone you’ll have to serve another detention,” the teacher explained to us. We both nodded and he got up and left.
I sighed leaning back and crossed my arms. Louis quickly spun around.
“Nu uh, turn back around,” I said point at him. He smirked his devilish smirk and stood up swinging his leg over his chair so he was fully facing me. I sighed. “You see I think that’s your problem, you do the exact opposite of what people tell you to do,” I told him. He smiled with a small laugh.
“Finally someone gets me,” he stated happily. I rolled my eyes looking away. “You roll your eyes a lot,” he commented. I looked back at him huffing through my nose.
“I only do it when I’m dealing with someone stupid or annoying and since you’re both,” I explained. He frowned putting my his over his heart.
“That hurt love, you need to be more nice,” he told me.
“You need to bug off and leave me alone,” I warned. He laughed again.
“Oh if only life were that easy,” he teased. I sighed again looking away. “So you never told me why you got stuck in here today,” he said in a normal tone. I shrugged.
“There was a fight near my locker blocking my way to my class and I had to go the long way around and ended up being late,” I explained dully.
“Did you tell the teacher that?” he asked curiously.
“Yea but she didn’t listen, I don’t usually disagree with teachers but I really don’t like her,” I explained.
“That’s really unfair, I hate when teachers do that,” he stated. I laughed a bit.
“Like you have much experience with that? You practically go looking for detentions,” I pointed out. He shrugged and looked down. “Why are you like that anyway? Do you even know the things people say about?” I asked.
“You think I care?” he snapped at me a bit.
“Judging by that reaction you clearly do,” I pointed out. He huffed a glare forming on his face. I’ve obviously hit a nerve.
“Well I don’t. I don’t care about anyone or anything,” he stated.
“Yea and that’s why you’re in detention every day on the verge of getting expelled and sliding down to a future of nothingness,” I said. he glared at me.
“Shut up,” he snapped at me and stood up quickly then walked down the row of desks. “I don’t need this,” he said violently pushed a few out of his way. I frowned a bit.
“Louis,” I called a little concerned and frightened. He ignored me and headed for the door. I quickly chased after him. “Louis wait,” I called down the hall. He slowly stopped breathing heavily. “I’m sorry okay. We don’t know each other and I shouldn’t have made you mad,” I said apologetically. He turned around and looked at him. His shaggy hair falling over the side of his face. “Detention is almost over, you can’t leave now or else you’ll get another one you may even get expelled,” I explained. He stared at me then looked down at the ground as he turned and leaned his back against the wall. “I’m sorry okay,” I told him.
I heard him sigh deeply as he pushed himself off the wall. Shoving his hands into his pockets he walked back to the room. I gave him a small smile but he ignored it and entered the room walking to the farthest end away from where we were sitting before. I sighed to myself and walked back to my seat
We sat in silence the remainder of the time. I couldn’t get over how fast Louis reacted to what I said. There’s clearly a lot more to him than meets the eye and oddly enough I found it intriguing.
