I kept my distance seeing them making their way to the back of the school, back to the picnic table Danny and his group usually hang by.
I stayed well hidden getting as close as I can so I can hear what they were saying. Louis and Harry were quick to get their attention and soon the 4 of Danny’s group were standing face to face a few feet apart from Harry and Louis. They’d be killed if they decided to fight today.
“What do you think you’re doing here Tomlinson?” Danny hissed crossing his arms.
“Came to work out a deal,” Louis said raising his head high. Danny snickered a bit.
“What kind of a deal?” he asked.
“A deal that decides whether or not I come back to your group,” Louis explained. My eyes went wide. What was he doing?
“I’m listening,” Danny said eyeing him.
“You win I come back to you and hook you up with whatever you want, I win you leave us alone,” Louis said firmly.
“Yea? And what’s going to decide this a coin toss?” Danny joked making his friends laugh.
“A fight,” Harry spoke up in a strong defensive tone. Danny and his gang stopped laughing and looked more seriously at Louis and Harry.
“Just me and you Tomlinson?” Danny asked.
“I was thinking we make it more interesting. My four against your four,” Louis explained.
“Sounds interesting but why don’t we up the stakes a bit. We win we don’t just get you we get your pretty little girlfriend too,” Danny suggested. My heart instantly started to race at the thought of me getting dragged into this.
“No way leave her out of this,” Louis fought back.
“Aw come now we wouldn’t hurt her, we’d just use her as our little slave,” Danny said. I gulped pushing the idea of having them ‘own’ me out of my head.
“Take anything else but not her,” Louis explained trying to stay tough but I could tell there was a hint of worry in his voice. He really did care about me. Maybe I should have listened to him and stayed in the school.
“Take it or leave it. Unless you think you’re not man enough to protect your girl. I could pay her another visit tonight maybe do more than scratch up her stomach,” Danny taunted.
Louis’ fist clenched and he jumped towards Danny only to be quickly pulled back by Harry. Danny and his group laughed at his reaction.
“It’s a deal,” Louis barked at them angrily. “And believe me you’re never going to touch or even think about her again after I’m through with you,” his voice growled with so much anger.
“Whatever, name a time and place and we’ll be ready,” he said.
“Tomorrow, right here after dark,” Harry said.
“Fine,” Danny said. Louis and Danny shook on it glaring at each other for a moment then pulled away. “Oh and be sure to bring her, I want my prize right away after I win,” Danny said with a dark chuckle.
Both Harry and Louis glared at him once more before turning around and heading back. I quickly ran back to the front of the school making sure they don’t see me.
I sat with my back against the wall and made it seem like I’d been there the whole time.
Once they were in view I stood up watching them curiously.
Louis’ face was distorted with a mixture of anger, worry and so many other types of feelings.
I didn’t say anything. Their hard faces told me it wasn’t the time. Louis came up to me putting his arm around me securely and pulled me back into the school. I glanced back at Harry who gave me a small smile.
I looked up at Louis walking with him into the school but he didn’t look back, he only breathed out a long troubled sigh and pulled me in closer.
