A week went by and Louis and I didn’t say another word to each other. He was a lot quieter and surprisingly even showed up to class on time a few times. I grew more and more curious about him but I didn’t want to admit it. There was more to him than anyone bothered to understand but part of me really wanted to.
It was a Friday now and it was the end of school. Amanda and I had said goodbye already because she had to rush home but I stuck around lingering around the school not wanting to go home just yet.
I found myself outside on the side of the school building. Not many people were around and I was left with my thoughts. I didn’t think about much. Life, school, my future and to my surprise I’d let my thoughts drift onto Louis.
I thought about his tattoos. I never really paid much attention to them but I started to think if they had any deeper meaning than just random body art. Could they explain the type of person he was or did he really just get them because they looked cool.
An unusual sound quickly pulled me out of my thought. I looked around the outside of the deserted school and tried to focus on where the sound was coming from.
I followed the noise and soon realised it sounded like soft weeping, like someone was upset and crying. I frowned following the noise until I was round another corner and met with a curled up ball of blackness with white tattooed arms.
My mouth dropped a bit as I recognized the poor person curled up with their head in their needs and softly crying. My heart broke a bit and for ones I felt nothing but sympathy for none other than Louis Tomlinson.
I took a few quiet steps not wanting to startle him. I bit my lip nervously knowing that he probably wouldn’t want to be see like this.
“Louis?” I asked just barely audible. His head snapped up and he glanced at me with a look of horror.
“Fuck,” he mumbled to himself and quickly dried his eyes but I clearly saw how tear stained they were.
“Are you okay?” I asked worriedly.
“Fine, thanks just some dust,” he covered as he got to his feet and turned his back to me. I sighed slightly walking up behind him.
“You’re really going to blame it on the dust?” I asked. He looked at me quickly then looked away. “What’s the matter?” I asked gently.
“Nothing will you go away please? Thank you,” he said crossing his arms.
“I want to know why you’re so upset though,” I said walking around him so I was facing him.
“What would you care?” he asked turning around the other way stubbornly.
“I’m a nice person and I care about those who clearly need help,” I pointed out. He sighed deeply.
“I’m fine okay. Big bad Louis has feelings big surprise now just leave me alone,” he said.
“It’ll make you feel better to talk about it,” I told him. He sighed deeply looking up at the sky.
“The only thing that could make me feel better is a new life,” he told me quietly. I frowned a bit.
“Well that’s a little impossible but it doesn’t mean you can’t make improvements on the life you have now,” I told him. He shook his head.
“It’s not that simple,” he stated and looked down at his feet. I sighed wanting to give up but my curiosity was getting the best of me.
“Please tell me what’s wrong?” I asked again.
“Nothing okay, just leave me alone,” he said and with that walked away. I sighed to myself not knowing what else I could do. I could run after her but it was plain and simple that he didn’t want to talk. I just hoped that he would be okay.
I sat in my room the next day on the phone with Amanda.
“Wait so Louis Tomlinson, the hard as nails bad ass of our school was crying?” Amanda asked in disbelief.
“Yup, as clear as day. He never said anything and to be honest I kind of felt bad,” I said laying back on my bed.
“Why though he’s a jerk he doesn’t deserve any sympathy,” she said. I bit my lip not wanting to push it any further, we clearly had different views or maybe it was due to the fact that I was starting to have different feelings for Louis.
“I dunno, still can’t help but be curious, he comes off like he doesn’t have a care in the world so what could possibly have him so upset,” I asked thoughtfully.
“Who cares, he’s a lost cause,” she said. I frowned again. I guess I couldn’t blame her opinion, it’s not like he’s ever done anything to change her mind about him. “Anyways Jenn I gotta get going, I’ll see you in school on Monday okay?” she asked.
“Kay talk to you later,” I said and then hung up my phone. I stretched out my arms and sighed.
I got up and walked out of my room and made my way over to my little sister’s room. I knocked on her door and poked my head inside. She looked up at me curiously with a smile.
“Hey Emma, wanna go to the park?” I asked her with a smile. She perked up and nodded as she jumped to her feet, her hair bouncing in it’s pony tail. She hugged me tightly and took my head pulling me to the door. We put on our shoes and told our parents we were heading to the park then lft.
