Pulling up to the cafe in my new Lamborghini reventon I had got for my birthday a few weeks ago, Stef was inside, waiting at our usual table. "Hey. You're early. I ordered a panini for myself and an orange juice for you."

His lips pulled up into a breathtaking smile a ps he pulled a strand of his dark brown hair back into its place before it fell back down over his grey-blue eyes that glowed as he looked into mine. I could never hurt him.

My urges to feed had been reduced due to my hunting trip this morning. I silently thanked whichever of my ancestors had decided to live near the forest and away from people.

I sipped my orange juice as Stef talked about a Liverpool game that was on tv last night, he was devastated that they were beat and that put them down on the league table p. the waitress came over to set down his panini on the table, although she looked like an anime girl, she had clearly made an effort to get him to notice her.

Her apron was dangling around her waist as she pulled her top down to make her chest more visible before she flung her hair over her shoulder and let it hang, forming a blond screen between me and Stef. "Thanks." He mom bled before trying to see around her hair.

When she took the hint her face turned from polite and flirty to pissed off as she turned on the heels of her red stilettos and walked behind the counter.

We didn't walk much while he ate, I just looked around the cafe, observing everyone. Good food was hard to come by in this town if you couldn't cook so Padres was the most popular cafe.

It used to be called 'Angello's' but when the minister's daughters took it over and he died they changed the name to Padres. Stef walked to the cafe so I gave him a lift to school as he calls shotgun and runs to the car to find a good music station, I never argue.

We pulled int the car park of the school at 9:23, ahead of our normal schedule, and found an easy space near the door. "What's up Kath? You seem on edge." I hadn't realised how my
Uh strength I was using to hold his hand.

"Nothing is up. Just dad and grandma arguing again." I sent him a reassuring smile before turning to walk up the steps to the main building.

Sniffing the air as u went through the door, I noticed something different. Past the chemical like smell of perfumes from every girl down the hall was a strong sweet smell.

Following the smell I dragged Stef along. "Where are you going?" I turned to face him before winking and walking on. Te source of the smell came from within our first class of the day.
