The penthouse was like a whole apartment, the kitchen to the left had been freshly stocked with food, the floors had been recently mopped and the bed had been made with a chocolate on each of the pillows. I looked around the room, noticing how luxurious it was, when Caleb slipped is arms around my waist.

My body was sent instantly alight with passion and desire. I turned and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him into my kiss. We stumbled towards the bed and fell onto the bottom half of it...

Hours later there was a knock at the door that sent us scrambling for our clothes. The furious knocked continued until I vamp-speed-dressed and ran for the door, while Caleb pulled the covers of the bed over himself. The knocking stopped when I grabbed the handle. A guy cleared his throat as I paused to tell Caleb to keep quiet before opening the door.

The guy on the other side of the door looked guilty and paranoid before I noticed anything else. On second look his dark hair and strangely familiar eyes. "Elijah?" Caleb nearly fell off the bed as he turned to look around me. Elijah's face looked entirely awkward as he turned away. My cheeks flushed as I watched Caleb attempting to cover himself after falling onto the floor.

"Umm, Kathy? Can I talk to you quickly? Like, outside?" I tilted my head and nodded, Caleb shouted to me before I left the room. "Be careful, I'll be out soon." He scrambled around trying to get his clothes. Elijah and I left the hotel room into the corridor. "What is it? Wait, more to the point, how did you find us Elijah?" He paused to listen for a few seconds before responding. "You may be hidden from Jensen, but I can still catch your scent.

"I needed to find you to tell you... Jensen is going to get an army of domesticated werewolves to track you, Cal and Stef. By the way, I also know what happened to him. "Elijah casually sniffed the air. "Where is Stef?" The door opened as Caleb was zipping up his hoodies, he moved to stand beside me and weave his fingers through mine.

"What's going on? Why are you here?" Elijah shuffled awkwardly. "How are you Cal?" Caleb wasn't interested in pleasantries. "Elijah, get on with it." He took a deep breath. "Jensen is sick of waiting, he wants Kathy. He's been like this before, turns into a giant baby throwing his toys out of th- not important. But he will do whatever to get her.

"My advice is get somewhere that they can't get you." He turned to leave down the corridor. "Hold on, what about Stef?" "Stef was an unfortunate mistake, the mission was a one time observation gone wrong. A werewolf was hired from a pack south of here, an alpha in fact, Jessie Millar. Just for this to try and encourage her pack to follow Jensen as well. But she didn't go for his pitch. If Stef wants to be cured all he has to do is kill the Alpha who turned him."

We stared for a second, waiting for him to say anything else. When he was quiet as well Caleb spoke up. "We'll tell him that. What are you going to do?" He turned away again, towards the window, before opening it as far as it would go." I'm going to stay with Jensen, get any information I can. I'll text you with what I learn. Bye."

He jumped onto the window sill and leapt upwards towards the roof opposite. His silhouette disappeared along the far roof. Caleb and I retreated back into our room after closing the window. "That was weird. Caleb crossed the room to the kitchen, where he got himself a drink of water. I sped across and lightly slapped his arm. "Ow! What was that for?" He set down his glass and rubbed his arm. "Say sorry."

He looked confused at the triumphant smile on my face. "For what?" "For thinking I was an idiot by not getting cloaked from Elijah." He laughed loudly. "Okay, I'm sorry. I didn't know which side he was on though." I giggled and wrapped my arms around his neck, before pulling his face close to mine. "Okay." I closed the distance between us and we continued as if Elijah hadn't shown up.

Not long after there was a knock on the door. "Sir? Ma'am? We need your card payments now or we will have to call the police." The lady from the front desk opened the door and came into the room. Luckily Caleb had left to pack the food into the boot of the car and get in, and I was standing beside the window.

The eleven story drop was little more than a step for me, as soon as I hit the ground my legs took off in a sprint. I headed straight to the car where Caleb was getting into the passenger seat. Luckily the keys hung in the ignition. We managed to be on the road in seconds, and heading for the motorway. "What?" My driving caused Caleb to fumble around for his seatbelt while our speed climbed to 115 mph. "Hotel staff came, I didn't want a fuss when they called the police."

His eyes narrowed but he nodded and let go of the topic. "So, what do you make of Elijah?" I adjusted my grip on the steering wheel. "Umm. He made a good point about getting away from Jens-" "No. I mean what do you think of him." He cut me off. "Do you think dad is right? That he is ready to go back upstairs?" I hesitated, deliberating his sudden train of thought.

"I don't know, I think he could be. I didn't know him when he was like you, before he was a vampire. How did that happen by the way?" "Eli was never as strong as I was when we were angels. He always wanted power even before we fell. When the time came and he was offered the one thing he craved most Jensen granted it to him, but this came with the price of being his vampire slave"

He was very emotional. Tears were building behind his eyes as he became lost in a memory. "Do you think Jensen will try and get you too? If he wanted Elijah then maybe he wants you too?" My train of thought took a dark turn to an image of Caleb and Elijah standing behind Jensen.

I shook the image out of my head and focused on over taking cars. "Probably. I mean if his agenda goes past control of all vampires, to the angels say, then he'll want both of Gabriel's sons." I shifted the car down into second gear to turn off onto a small road before reaching for Caleb's hand. "It's your turn to sleep." He leaned on his arm against the window and drifted off, leaving me haunted by that image.
