"Are you sure? You know that if either one of them come for you then you would be on your own?" He nodded quickly. "I'll be okay on my own." He turned to look at Caleb. "Just look after her, okay?" Caleb moved closer to me to take my hand.
"You two should get going, in case someone catches up to you." He crossed the rooftop and opened his arms, I accepted his hug. He held me tightly for a few minutes before moving onto Caleb, whom he offered a handshake. They shook for a second before pulling each other in for a hug as well.
"Take care Dracula." He laughed before dropping off the roof. I turned to face Caleb. "How did you even get up here?" He motioned down towards the ladder on the opposite building. "Stef helped me across." I smiled and helped him back over to the other roof. "It was goof to see you two getting on, even after what I did to him, stealing you like I did."
Caleb made his way down the ladder, jumping slightly when he turned to come face-to-face with me. "He may have been a jealous prick to begin with, but he wasn't too bad." He gently pressed his lips against mine, setting every nerve on fire.
We hadn't had a lot of time for romance lately, but I guess we could take one night. "We should get out of Belfast and find a hotel to sleep in." His coy smile showed he was thinking the same thing I had, I responded with a wink.
We walked for a few streets before we hit one full if cars and people, I pulled out my phone. "Hmm, its 3:52, that's a little early for rush hour traffic. We grabbed each others hands and stuck our heads down. A few people stared as we walked, as if they were trying to place my face. I moved close to Caleb's ear. "I need to feed. You steal a car and I'll be around here." He nodded and left down an alley.
There were so many heartbeats around that it was causing my mouth to water at the thought of ripping into one. A rotten smell in the crowd causing me to look at the alley that Caleb had gone down seconds ago.
Darting into it was a tall man dressed completely in black. I followed after him until we were out of sight; I crashed into him causing him to fall to the ground. "Oh fuck! Look, I'm just here for the angel. Jensen never said anything about a vampire whore!" I slid my fangs down into place. "Well, this 'vampire whore' is hungry." With that I sunk into his carotid artery.
The taste matched the smell; it was as if I had just dug into a rotten apple. But blood was blood. His body fell to the ground as I heard the screech of tires. My vamp speed got me into the car before Caleb had time to beep the horn.
"Caleb, while I was feeding I met a guy who was looking for you. I had to dispose of him." He nodded, staying focused on the road. "You didn't feed on him, did you? Did you find a rabbit or something?" I nodded as well. "Okay, well get some sleep and we can discuss it tomorrow." As if his words reminded me of how tired I was I let out a yawn, and leant my head against the back of the chair. It took a while but sleep managed to come for a bit.
