Caleb's father? I was still wrapping my head around the fact that I was in heaven. I glanced down to the right to see Caleb, lying unconscious on the floor. I ran over to his body and knelt beside him, shaking his shoulders. "The boy won't wake until I want him to, the perks of being an archangel, and I won't wake him until after you and I have a little chat about my son."

I reluctantly moved away from his body and followed Gabriel to a table, I took one of the white leather armchairs and he took the one across from me, he balanced his cane on top of his knees as he opened a paper that had been sitting on the table and began to read. "Belfast was the site of an unheard of occurrence. Some of the residents have claimed to have seen the aurora borealis over the small city. Pictures on the Internet have been confirmed to be not doctored."

I sat and stared at my legs. "Care to remark why my son was ready to give up all of his grace?" I looked up at him with confusion on my face. "What? I don't even know what that means." He set the paper to one side and leaned forward. "If he wants to give up his grace then he would become entirely human and there would be no chance of him returning to heaven until he dies. I only sent him to earth for a brief time as a punishment, don't get me wrong, I want him back. But I can't have him back if he is human.

I was baffled. Gabriel continued to stare at me. "I don't get what he sees in you. Oh well." His stare got more intense, as he stared my head started to hurt, the pain spread like a fire. I lifted my hand to the side of my head. I was about to scream when a phone went off, the sound of one direction 'That's what makes you beautiful' flooded into the room. Gabriel broke eye contact and quickly searched for his phone. I sighed in relief as he answered it.

"There's a what? Where? Alright, how long till it gets in here?" Gabriel's voice was slightly panicked as he rose from his chair and practically glided over to Caleb, he looked at him for a second before whacking him again with the cane. "He'll come round in a few minutes. The teleporter will leave you at your house." Before I could ask any questions he shoved me over and I landed on top of Caleb.

Another flash of light. I looked around at the familiarity of my bedroom. A swift knock on the door snapped me out of my awed state. I opened the door slightly to see my own dad standing on the other side. "You're still here, sweet heart, you're going to be late for school." I looked at my phone, it read 'Monday, 9:05.' I looked back up. "Thanks dad." Before he could speak I closed the door and ran back to Caleb who had sat up and was looking around, confused.

"Caleb, we're going to be late for school." He stared at me briefly before shaking his head. "Sorry, I hate that bloody cane. Can we take your car?" I smiled and nodded. Quickly stepping into the ensuite bathroom I changed into my leggings and a casual dress. After that we headed downstairs to find an angry looking dad. "Really? You are trying to sneak boys out of my house? With me here? We will talk about this when you get home." He moved on to Caleb. "And you are banned from this house." I rolled my eyes and walked on through to the garage.

The first half of school passed in a flash, however Caleb hadn't stopped looking around the whole day, I think he was still paranoid about what happened last night, or whenever it was. I hadn't fed in a few days now so the pulses of the people around me were starting to get really loud; my mouth began to water so I bit into my hand once. When I did Caleb noticed and pulled me into an empty classroom.

"What are you doing?" He held my hand and examined how deep the not healing bite was. "I'm starving. I haven't eaten in a few days." He took some deliberation before he backed me against the door. "Feed on me for the time being and I'll take you to the park later." I glanced at his face and around the room. "I can't. I don't feed on people because I'm afraid I won't be able to stop, and I won't do it to you because I don't want to hurt you." He took a deep breath and held up his wrist. "I know you can stop, and I can take the pain." I extended my fangs and pearced the skin of his wrist. A minute later a knock on the window spooked us both as we were in a second story classroom. I quickly withdrew my fangs and pricked my finger; my blood closed his wounds as I rubbed it on. Turning around to see a window cleaner was the biggest relief, I thought it was an angel or a vampire. We quickly hurried out of the door and went to class.

The next few hours were a blur. Thankfully the window cleaner hadn't known who we were to report us specifically, but an announcement came over the PA system telling the students, 'please refrain from making out in empty classrooms' during the last lesson of the day. Even after school Caleb continued to scan the faces of every person that passed us until we got into the car. He sighed and closed his eye.

Wasting no time I stuck the car into drive and pressed my foot to the floor. No more than a few minutes later we were sat in the car park of the local park. I unhooked my seatbelt and moved over to kiss him. We stayed in the car for a few minutes before some of the kids from our biology class started knocking on the windows and shouting profanity. "Shall we walk?" Caleb suggested. "We shall."

We walked for what seemed like miles until we came to the top of a waterfall. It dropped down from some rocks and gathered in a pool at the bottom. The water was fresh and clean, good enough to swim in. I removed the denim jacket I had thrown on over the dress and front flipped off the top of the waterfall. The pool was deep enough for me to sink down a few meters before swimming back up. "Come on in, if you dare." I teased Caleb, expecting him to be the voice of reason. Much to my surprise he took off the white button down shirt he had on and dived in as well.

He swam out to me and popped his head up from under the water; his muscles were beaded with water as he floated beside me. He took one hand to ruffle his hair and the other to pull me closer. As our lips collided the same kids from earlier came running out of the trees. "Run! It got Sean!" They continued to run, my head snapped around and I sniffed the air. "It smells like dog."

Just then a large black shape hurled its way across the pool and up the side of the waterfall before back tracking to sniff my jacket and Caleb's shirt. We had hid under the small embankment where the grass stuck out over the water slightly. There was a heavy sound of paws beating against the earth to stop right above us before the sound of cracking bones make me sink lower into the water. Finally the cracking stopped and a human female grunted, before sniffing the clothes again.

A few minutes passed before we heard anything else. The subtle clicks of a cell phone came from above, she was dialing a number, the phone rang before she could make the call. "Have you found them yet?" She grunted again. "Yes Elijah, I found a shirt and a jacket belonging to the two, their scents are all over them." The voice responded in a monotone manor. "Good job, bring them and come back now. The maker wants to see you about the other business."

More cracking of bones were followed by a small whimper and the sound of heavy paws beating away into the trees. "What did he say on the phone?" I had almost forgotten that Caleb couldn't hear everything that I can. "She was talking about our clothes up there and she was on the phone to someone called Elijah." Caleb took a sharp breath as things seemed to click together behind his eyes. "What aren't you telling me?" He took a deep breath before he answered me. "I don't know how I didn't recognize him. Elijah is the guy that tried to kidnap us..." He paused. "And...?" I wasn't letting this go. "And he's my brother."
