It had been three days since I had received the message, and I had done nothing about it. School continued with either being ignored or stared at. Caleb and I had spent a lot of time together, and Stef barely spoke more than a few words to me, however all he did was outright glare at Caleb.

I was sitting in Spanish, next to Caleb. "Alright class, split into groups of threes and work on exercise 9.4b in your mola! textbooks." The class split themselves into threes leaving Caleb and I sitting at the back of the room. "Stefan, go and join... Caleb and Kathy." Stef turned to cover saying "shit" under his breath. I looked at Caleb who was oddly calm and even smiled as Stef sat down across from him.

"Hi Stef." Caleb continued to smile as Stef cautiously nodded. "Do either of you know how fluent the teacher is with her German?" We both looked at Caleb. "Porque yo soy fluido y tenemos que hablar?" (Why, what do you want to talk about?) Stef raised his eyebrows in confusion. Thanks to my vampire mind I can learn and remember things easier than a human.

"Que quieres hablar?" (What's wrong?) Stef remained confused as Caleb briefly smiled. "Der Himmel hat mich zuruckgerufen. Sie sagen, dass sie einen job fur mich, und wenn ich fullen sie es aus, dann kann ich eine vollstandige angel weider sein wenn nicht dann meine Gnade wird schlieblicht verschwinden und ich wird nicht erlaubt warden, gehen zuruck, bis ich sterbe." (Heaven has called me back. They say that they have a job for me, and if I complete it then I can become a full angel again. If not then my grace will eventually disappear and I won't be allowed back until I die.)

"Really? I can't believe it. What are you going to do?" Caleb looked at the table. "I'll decide when I know more. Anyway, Stef, would you do one, four and seven. Kathy do two, five and eight. And I'll do three, six, nine and ten." He finished and cracked open his textbook.

Class ended as we finished our task. Stef hurried to gather his books and leave before us. However due to my added speed I managed to slip all my stationary into my pocket and sat on the table, waiting for Caleb. "So, movie tonight?" Caleb glanced over at Stef. "Want to join?" Stef raised his eyebrows before staring down at the table and scratching his head. "No, I'm alright."

I hopped off the table. "Alright, what is wrong with you? I know you're still a little hurt about me dumping you but Jesus." "No Kathy, I just don't want to hang out with my ex and her new weird angel boyfriend." I closed my eyes and focused on holding back; Caleb turned me around and looked me in the eye. "Calm down, let's just go." The words sounded loud in the quiet classroom. I took his hand and, without another glance at Stef, we left the room and headed home.
