I woke the next morning at around ten o'clock. My head lay across his chest and his arms were tucked around me like a comforting blanket. I gently turned my head to see that he hadn't woke up yet and carefully removed myself from his arms. I silently thanked whoever built the cabin that they hadn't made creaky floor boards as I tip toed over to the bathroom.
The bathroom was about half the width of the living room and only a few meters long, but inside was a fully functional shower, toilet and sink. I quickly showered as I guessed we would be on the road for a while, before wrapping a towel around myself and searching for the clothes.
In the top drawer of the small dresser to the left of the sink there was underwear and trousers, the drawer underneath it held tops and dresses suitable for a seventeen year old. I dressed in simple black jeans with a light gray top and a black zip up hoodie. Leaving the bathroom I noticed that Caleb wasn't on the sofa, and that it had been folded back up. The smell of fresh blood came from the kitchen. I followed it to find Caleb standing beside a microwave.
"I don't know how it will taste but I had a few bags of blood in the fridge from when I used to hunt." He popped the microwave seconds before it was due to go off, handed me the glass and turned away into the living room. I gulped down the red fluid, burning my tongue as I drank it. When I was finished I left the glass in the sink with some water in it. "I'll go get changed and then we can go." He smiled and walked off.
The car drive was filled with music as we settles on the station radio one. Ironically the vamps were flowing from the speakers and filled the car. We had gone onto the motorway for about twenty minutes before my phone beeped, indicating a message. 'Where are you? The geography presentation is today. Call me!' I sighed at the text. Stef would always remind me of when projects and presentations were due. I flipped open the keypad to text back. 'I've had to go away for a few days and deal with some stuff. Tell everyone I'm sick or something. Thanks Stef.'
It wasn't easy to lie to Stef; he had always been able to see through my lies. I knew I couldn't put him in danger by involving him in any of this. He knew the Caleb was an angel, but he didn't need to know about me. We drove until we hit another city; it was meant to be a lot larger than Belfast. As we passed a sign I read 'Now entering Dublin.'
