Ditch

Class was a drag, between the lectures and how mitosis is different from meiosis, I couldn't take much more when the bell rang. I bolter up and grabbed Stef's arm when the teacher huffed out. "Kathy Price, stay behind please." I rolled my eyes and motioned for Stef to go on.

When the rest of the class had left the science room the teacher perched on the edge of his desk. "Kathy, what's been going on this term? You used to be my top student, but now you barely pay any attention, and now I catch you in the school corridor with two boys. What happened?" I was tempted to roll my eyes. "Well, Sir, for starters I have no interest the new guy and I've been undergoing some changes as of late. So you'll have to forgive me for not being as attentive as usual." Before anything else could be said I turned and walked out.

Using my vampire speed and strength I pushed through all of the halls to find Stef, right outside his next class. "Stef, you want to come with me?" A smile toyed with his lips. "Depends, where are you heading?" "Anywhere." Stef reached for my hand so we could duck below the window of the classroom. We made it safely through the halls. Although my car was parked at the front we would still have to make it past the security staff.

Clutching the wall as we went down the steps, we had made it to the final sprint. I used the keys to open the reventon that sat gloriously across from the steps we were hiding on, normally I'd just vamp speed over to it but I can't expose myself in front of Stef. A low shrub littered along the short path would provide enough cover to get to my car.

We had our plan set and we went for it. Stef took the keys and headed for the driver's side. If anything went wrong, and I got caught then he could go and I could run. His part was executed perfectly. My turn. I swept low across the ground and hopped past the security team, I came to the shrub just before I looked up to see the biggest security guard standing at the other side, looking around. As soon as he moved away I sprinted for the car, Stef started the engine and drove away before they could reach the car.

"That was insane and amazing!" Stef's praise was nothing new, but I still enjoyed it. Stef laughed in the car as we turned onto the main road and headed for the main part of town. He stopped and thought for a second. "Want to go to Padres?" I had almost forgotten about the new guy, but when he mentioned Padres it all came flooding back. He paused for a few more seconds and stared at me. "Stef I promise you that I have no interest in him." He smiled at me. "I know. But seriously, to Padres?" My answer was less of a 'yes' and more of a 'yush!' I almost sounded like a crazy tumblr girl.
