The classroom I looked I to was empty and bare. The school had dished out the funds for it years ago but no teacher wanted to permanently teach in it.
A line of students lined the wall to the left if the door beside me. Most of them were either completely ignoring everything or staring at the new student. I glanced at Stef, who dragged me to the back of the line with a scowl on his face.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Stef glared up the line before answering. "I don't like the way the new guy is staring at you." Stef was adorable when he got jealous.
Looking for the teacher down the corridor, I managed to spot the new guy. I can see why Stef was jealous. He definitely looked like my type. His dark brown hair flowed down to the top of the leather collar of his jacket. He looked over as his aqua-blue eyes locked with mine before turning away and putting his right hand into the back pocket of his dark jeans.
Turning down to the floor and back to Stef, I saw the worry in his eyes as he tried to read mine. "He's not my type." I lied casually as I leaned towards him. Right before we I touched his lips I heard footsteps behind us. Someone coughed causing us to face the door, expecting it was the teacher I braced myself for a lecture, only to find myself pushed gently up against the wall with someone's body leaning against mine. "Hey, I'm new around here. What's your name?"
Without much thought the word 'Kathy' fell from my lips. A smile curved onto the new guy's lips. "Well, Kathy, how about I take you out sometime? And sample some of the good dating spots." I looked over at Stef, who stood fuming. Looking back at the guy I leaned forward and whispered in his ear. His eyes went wide and he backed away from me and the wall. "If you ever change your mind I work at this little café on main street, Padres, swing by sometime." He walked into the classroom after the line of students as the teacher walked up the corridor.
Before walking in Stef grabbed my arm. "What did you say to him?" Still jealous. "I told him that if he ever came that close to me again, and you didn't punch him, that I would, and that it would hurt a lot more." Stef's eyes went wide as I relayed the information. "That's my girl." He leaned forward and closed the gap between his lips and mine for a few seconds before the teacher reached us. We were in for another lecture on 'fornication' on school premises.
