The night seemed to brighten faster, changing from a deep blue to a crimson red as the sun rose. It seemed to come closer as it rose across the sky at the same time, causing my flesh to sizzle and burn. I was melting into the roof. It still came closer, right about to hit the earth...
I jumped awake on the rooftop. As I rubbed my eyes I realized that there was an annoyed Caleb just two feet from my face. "Hey." He raised an eyebrow. "Hey? Kathy, do you remember what happened?" This must be a trick question. "Ummm, yes?" He stood back and put his hands on his hips. "We sleep together and then you fall asleep."
My head cocked to the side. A small smile crept onto his face. 'Ahh, sarcasm.' "Baby, I'm sorry. I was working late and got so tired." We started laughing, too loud. "Guys? Why are you both on the roof?" We glance over the side to see Stef reaching for two hanging items on the windowsill. "What-?" His expression dropped as he held the up. It was a bra and a pair of guy's underwear.
"Really? On the roof?!" We exchanged a smile as Stef shook his head before climbing back down. After quickly redressing we cautiously climbed in through the window. Stef looked a little bit pissed and nervous. "Is everything okay Stef?" Caleb shimmied through the window and shut it behind him, Stef started scratching his side and winced in pain. "I can smell blood, what happened?" He slowly backed up towards the bathroom as Caleb and I stared at each other.
"Oh my god!" We walked in to see Stef with his shirt pulled half way off. On his left side was a massive bite mark, it looked blackened and smelt like it had something wrong with it. "Stef, I think it might be infected, let me have a look at it." Caleb calmly stepped towards him with his hands raised. Stef lowered his hands to his side and leaned against the bath. I felt awkward just standing there as my boyfriend examined an open wound on my ex boyfriend's side.
"As I thought, Kathy, pass me a torch or something please." I set off for the bedroom and got Stef's pocket torch. Caleb shone the light against the bite before grabbing a towel and the first aid kit from behind the bathroom mirror. "I know what is wrong." He squinted as he threaded the needle. Stef nearly jumped off the bath. "Well, what is it? And what are you doing with that?" Caleb nodded to me and I held him down.
"Although she shows a lot of control, Kathy is still new. So unless you want her to lose her inhibitions and drink you dry I need to close that up. And you have just a minor case of lycanthropy." Stef relaxed under my grip. "Okay... Wait... What?!?!"
