~TIANA JACOB'S POV~

I woke up with a blistering headache and I made a beeline towards my bathroom. I showered in the cold. It makes me think I'll feel better and that maybe, just maybe, I can be all up and awake today if I showered in the cold. But no! It gave me a worse headache! Grumbling, I took my denim shorts from my closet and a plain black shirt, slipping on some sandals and heading down to the kitchen, dragging myself down the stairs

"Tiana, is that you?" Mum called from the kitchen and I immediately shook my head to clear the blur images. Shit, shit! Does she know I came home drunk?!

"Y-Yeah," I tried to answer normally and she asked me to go into the kitchen. Pulling on the best (at least that's what I would like to believe) it's-so-early-in-the-morning look, I sat on one of the stools in the kitchen and Mum handed me a plate of breakfast.

"So, about last night," she started as she sat opposite me.

Oh shit, fuck.

"I'm so sorry! I know I shouldn't have driven home by myself! I knew it was bad, like totally bad to the point of death, but I had to get home! I'm so sorry!" I said it all in one breath, I'm pretty sure it came out as a string of curse words in the African language.

No hate, guys, no hate. Just sayin'.

"What are you talking about you drove home?" she asked, her eyebrows knitted together. "A young man called Blade drove you home and even carried you up to your room. Now, you go tell him I said thank you again when you talk to him, hmmm?" she said as she continued making Tyler's lunch box.

"Wait, you're not mad?" I asked her as I started eating.

"Tee, I was mad last night. Tell me how many parties you've gone to all your life," she said.

"Well, there was this one time I was invited over to the twin's birthday party. Remember, I wore that pink dress and," I was cut off by my Mum sighing.

"Exactly. That's my point. Your last party was probably when you were still in Middle School!" she said.

"Actually, starting of middle school," I corrected her.

"Yes, whatever," she said and I laughed. "Tee, I was mad last night, I'm not going to lie, but you need to live a little. Liam used to party every single night during his Junior year and I had to restrain him on his senior year, which by the way never worked," she rolled her eyes. "Tiana, you're responsible and it's fine to let loose sometimes, to let yourself have fun," she smiled at me kindly.

"So, I get to party every night?" I wiggled my eyebrows at her.

"Hah, nice try," she scoffed.

I took Red out for a walk through the park and I was just listening to my Music when I heard someone shouting my name in the distance. I turned around and I saw Max jogging towards me.

"Hey," I smiled at him and pulled my earphones out and he stood there, slightly panting. He was already jogging and I could see beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a while?" he asked and I nodded, turning around to face him fully. "Hey, Red," he patted my dog's head and I gave him a questioning look.

"How did you know my dog's name?" I asked him.

"Tee, I used to go over your house," he laughed.

Ohh, I remember now! He was the reason why I used to lock myself in my room because I didn't want to breath the same air he did. No, it wasn't because I was disgusted with him, it was because I always knew I'd stammer if I ever talk to him. Fainting was also a really good option, so, I told myself to never go down to the living room whenever he was around. There was this one time I didn't notice Liam's friends were at my house and I went down to the kitchen. I heard unfamiliar footsteps and you know what I did?
