"What? How do I come there?Can somebody come pick me up. I really need to see her" Dania started rambling frantically and breathlessly.
"Yeah I- I'll come pick you up. Please don't worry and cry. She'll be fine. The doctors said so" Zahid said on the phone, trying to comfort her sister
"I need to see her. Please hurry up" she replied and hung up. She was breathless. Why was god doing this to her? Had she done something terribly wrong? Or was this just a test that she had to pass? But in order to pass the test she needed to have hope and energy. Both of which she had lost. That's when the devil mother in law walked in
"Get up you lazy girl, you do nothing all day. Just lie around here. Your kid is crying outside and you don't even care. We raised four children without any help and you can't raise one. You are useless" her mother in law started saying, it was her daily routine to blame Dania like that.
But Dania had had enough now. She couldn't talk to Hamna, who meant the world to her, because they cut the phone's line when she tried to sneak around and call her and now she couldn't go to see her mother in the hospital.
Sakeena had a heart attack a few hours ago and Dania was dying to meet her mother.
"Can you just for one freaking second shut your god damn mouth! I have been nothing but nice and polite to you while all you've done is accuse me of Ahmed's death. He was my husband too." her eyes welled up with tears
"He wasn't just your son and I'm hurting as much as you are and no I can't handle one child because you know why,try picturing this. Your father dies 2 months after your marriage and your unborn child dies after some time too and then you find out your husband has brain cancer and he dies after a year too and then you find out that your...your mother has had a heart attack too" and then she started crying. Unable to form any more words and ran out of the room to go see why Amna was crying. She actually felt pretty confident and nice after more than snapping at her mother in law. That woman deserved it. She didn't know how much she needed to do that until she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding onto.
