Chapter 27

Oh god, here comes the most awkward part
Dania thought.
It had been almost three weeks since she last saw Amna.
Every time someone came to see her. To see if she was capable of being his wife it would hurt her. It was like she was putting herself on display.
She walked down the stairs feeling awkward once again.
This time when she walked downstairs and stole a glance of the guy she was putting herself on display for. She didn't feel awkward. She felt something different. She felt something like....it was difficult to explain..it was just almost like when she met Ahmed.
ALMOST.
Did she just say almost? Oh god what is wrong with me. I'm getting pathetic. You're the mother of a kid. Get a grip, Dania

And that was when she realized she didn't steal a glance, she was staring at him and everybody else was staring at her.
Nice work
Her subconscious reminded her. Great now she was having a debate with her subconscious.
She quickly looked away at which everybody laughed.
Awkward
She quietly walked down the stairs with her head down and that stupid smile plastered on her face.
As she reached downstairs, she went to sit just beside Sakeena who was, if it is possible, glowing with happiness to see her daughter kinda happy.

Oh god, it seemed so magical and they even said yes. Wow

She was talking to herself and that is when she went to check her phone and she had that stupid burn in her eyes agin when she saw the wallpaper. It was her and Ahmed, laughing like there were no worries in the world. His hands were around her waist.

Am I betraying him? Is it wrong for me to think about another man?

But it's been a year!

Oh god, these debates with her subconscious were driving her crazy. She quickly opened her phone and changed the wallpaper to a picture of Amna which made her cry again.

"Hey" Salma said, peeking her head in
"Hey. Come in"
"You're happy aren't you? I can see it in your eyes" she quickly asked
"Do you have some time I have to talk to you"
"Yeah sure" Salma said with a worried expression on her face

"Is it wrong? I mean is it wrong for me to think about another man"
"Isn't that would Ahmed would want you to do? To move on? It's been a year. You need to stop punishing yourself. You're just 26, you have to be a little selfish"
"Yeah I guess you're right. I finally feel happy" she smiled
"That's great. I have to go now"
"Okay" she smiled again
wow she was doing that a lot today.

Maybe it was alright for her to be selfish and plus if she gets married to him, well, his name was Taha. He will help her get Amna back and maybe, just maybe, he will be as good as Ahmed. But what scared her was if he wasn't good. If he would just leave her at some point like Ahmed. Maybe again everything will not be as perfect
