Chapter 32

"Someone seems happy" Hamna teased Dania as she walked down the stairs, her face glowing with happiness.
"Why would I be happy?" She lied and tried to hide the smile
"Because you were talking to Taha till 5 in the morning" Hamna said and wiggled her eyebrows

"Whatever Hamna, you're hopeless"

"Hmm" Hamna tapped her chin like she was thinking
"you never give up unlessss...you're wrong" Hamna said and started laughing with which Dania started chuckling too.

"It's so good to hear laughter in this house again" Sakeena said, coming out of the room and smiling
Dania and Hamna got up from the floor and said good morning to Sakeena.
"What time are you girls leaving for the salon?"
"We will leave at 4"
"Good, have fun"

"Dania there is something I have to tell you" Taha said, he was clearly worried
"What?" Dania said putting some more ice cream in her mouth while balancing the phone on her shoulder
"There was another girl in my life. I'm over her but it seems like she isn't. She...she calls my family sometimes. She uses profanity against my mother. She does all sorts of things that could trouble me. I understand if you don't want to marry me after this. I just have to get this off of my chest" he rambled breathlessly
"I'll call you back" she hung up quickly and took a deep breath.

The next morning, she broke this news to the rest of the family and they didn't believe her but decided to call Taha and ask him instead.
"It's true" he said and everybody got confused but decided to solve this matter calmly.
Dania's brother put his head in a crying Dania's lap and asked her what she wanted
"What do you want?" He said, a tear escaping his eyes too
"I want to...I want to marry him. He says he's over that girl and I believe him. We'll get through this together" she said

She believed Taha, she really did

"If that's what you want, then that is what will happen" he said.

2 years later

"Taha no, I'm not wearing that" this was the first thing she said when she picked up her phone
"Why? I love that dress" he complained
"But it's not my type. I don't like the colors"
"Can you believe that we're getting married" she said while remembering all that happened in all those years. She clearly remembered the time she told him that she was ready to marry him.

Ayesha was in labor and Taha came to visit for a while and after he went away Dania missed him so much and that is when it hit her that she didn't just like him. She loved him albeit she hadn't really told him that.
"Yeah" Taha said
"Thank you so much Taha"
"For what?"
"For calling me constantly for 2 years every night"
"At such late hours" Taha said completing Dania's sentence
"Yeah" she chuckled "at such late hours. You gave me time to get ready for this wedding for 2 years. You called me everyday just so I could get ready and because of you I'm going to meet Amna soon. It really means a lot to me"
"And you say that in every phone call" he replied
"I do?" She asked. She didn't remember doing so
"You do" he chuckled
"Well, I have to get my beauty sleep so I don't look like a disaster on my wedding day"
"You won't but good night" Taha yawned
"Goodnight Taha" she whispered
"Hey, can I say something? Promise me you won't laugh"
Oh god I'm blushing already

"Why would I laugh?"
"Because it's funny. I...I.. I" Dania stammered
"Love you?" Taha guessed, clearly joking
"Umm..yeah"
And then she heard Taha spit something out and he started coughing
"Hey are you alright?" she was worried, the redness still on her cheeks.
"Yeah, I just spit and choked on my soda"
"Why?"
"You're asking me why? You just said I love you to me after 2 years, you saw that coming" he said
"Haha okay" she complained sarcastically.
"Go clean your clothes. I don't want my groom to look ugly on his wedding day so you go to sleep too" she said and but her lip, chuckling
"Hey by the way, I love you too" and with that he hung up.
Dania's cheeks were burning like a lava and when she went to see herself in the mirror, not only her cheeks but her whole face was red
