Thank god I am not in the house.

I haven't actually spent the last two nights in the house anyway, but I'm very thankful I slept at Scarlett's place. The two of us left the party early to go to her apartment as we figured we shouldn't drink and end up with a hangover for her father's birthday party tonight. And because of this, I'm not entirely sure what happened during the rest of the party. However, from what I saw when I stepped in this morning, it couldn't have been good.

When I got back to the house to grab my tuxedo, I was definitely surprised with what I saw. The thing is, I didn't see any of my roommates. All I could see was the aftermath of a party that hadn't been cleaned up at all, which I understand because everyone was probably waiting for me to help out, but no one was around at all. The house was empty aside from all the trash scattered across the floor, and if I saw clearly, there were wads of blood-stained paper towels in the trashcan. I think I saw some blood droplets on the carpet outside of my room, but no one was around for me to ask what happened.

Needless to say, I was entirely confused. Was there a fight that I missed? Did someone accidentally get hit in the nose while dancing? I mean, why didn't anyone call me to let me know what happened? I'm sure I can have Aubrey fill me in later, but I'm feeling a little left out. Of course I wouldn't quite be feeling this way if I had just stayed the night there, but the weird air within the house let me know it was more than likely a good thing that I did not stay.

We may have thrown an awesome party at our house, but I had more fun hanging out with Scarlett at her apartment. Sometimes all I want to do is sit and watch movies with her as we dig into three bags of popcorn and two bags of peanut butter M&M's. It's moments like those that I love.

As I sit in my little egg of a rental car outside of Scarlett's apartment, I check my phone to see if there are any messages from my roommates, but I'm somehow not surprised to see nothing. I step out of the car and adjust my tux. Tonight is Charles' birthday party and I'm going to keep my mind focused on that. I can't have any fun if I'm thinking of other things.

Walking up to the apartment door, I knock three times before it's soon opened before me. Scarlett stands in the doorway with a sparkling black dress that touches the floor. It's long sleeved with a slit on the right side that makes its way up to her hip, and as she turns around to let me in, I notice the dress dip very low in the back. She looks beautiful with her hair curled and a bright smile on her face.

"You clean up nicely," Scarlett laughs as she sits down on the couch to put her high heels on.

I smile as I play with the cuffs of my rented tux. "Thanks. You look extraordinary."

She stands up from the couch and walks over to me, wrapping her arms around my neck. My arms snake around her waist as she presses her lips against mine a few times. I could stay like this all night if it was socially acceptable. But unfortunately we have obligations to attend to.

"You guys make me sick," a third voice echoes throughout the small apartment. It takes me a moment to match the voice to a face as I see Bradley walk out of the kitchen.

"Oh shut up," Scarlett rolls her eyes and grabs her little clutch purse from the coffee table. "No date tonight?"

Bradley shakes his head and I can see his shoulders shrink. "No. I had been thinking of asking Mikaela to come with me, but things have been a little weird between us lately, and last night kind of solidified everything I was thinking. I'm certain that the two of us aren't a thing anymore."
