Author's Note:

I feel so bad... MAJOR WRITER'S BLOCK STRUCK. Ugh, I haven't had the energy to write. Well, on a brighter note, this is dedicated to my lovely boyfriend LOL. I could write a whole novel about my feelings for you...

Chapter 26 (Girl V.S. Boy)

"Mr. James... What are you doing here at my house?" Jacob asked as he opened the door to an exasperated and angry looking father.

"I came for my son. Is he here?" Mr. James asked, looking around the room.

I frowned. "Umm, no, he's not. Do you need something from him?"

The moment I said that, the angry man stepped closer to me, grabbing my wrist, twisting it slightly. "You. You little monster!" he yelled angrily.

I could hear the others in the background, yelling for Mr. James to let go of me, but he didn't loosen his grip. "Mr. James, please calm down!" Matthew pleaded.

"What?" I spat, in between wincing at the pain he was inflicting on me.

"This was all your doing! You made my son leave me!" he said yelled, making him sound as if he was possessed.

I tried to yank my arm back, at the same time, maintaining my calm composure. "He wanted to leave you. It was all your fault. If you weren't fucking random women every now and then behind your wife and son's backs, maybe they would still be with you. But that's not the case, is it?"

He slapped me hard in the face, making me fall back down onto the floor. It all turned to black.

"I think she's waking up."

"That was short, thank goodness."

"Elle?"

I opened my eyes. I wasn't in a hospital bed. I was in the waiting room, my head leaning against the back of the chair I was sitting on. "What happened?" I asked sleepily.

"You're going to be okay, they are just prepping for you to get examined. You'll be in a room shortly. We just got here," Janice assured me.

"What happened?" I repeated.

I heard a commotion coming from the sliding doors at the front of the room. "Where is she?" I heard a voice ask hurriedly.

My head started to throb and I groaned in pain as Janice rubbed my arm up and down to calm me down. "Brandon, she's going to be okay. I bet it's just a concussion. It's nothing to get worked up about," Janice stated.

"No! No, the question is, how did it happen? Why didn't you stop him?!" Brandon yelled, making the front desk come forward to calm him down.

"It was so sudden, we didn't know how to react," Jacob said quietly.

Brandon exhaled sharply, bending down in front of me, looking me straight in the eye. "Do you remember anything?" he asked calmly.

I blinked a couple times, trying to remember. "I... Think I fell."

Brandon whipped his head around to look at Jacob. "Did you call the police?" he asked.

"Yeah, we gave them the address to your old house. After he hit Elle, he ran out of the door and sped off," Jacob stated.

"Who hit me?" I asked, confused. I didn't remember anything.

Brandon looked like he was trying to maintain control, something it seemed like he was having a hard time doing. Finally, he sighed. "Are you okay? Do you need anything at all?" he asked me.
