AUTHOR'S NOTE:
OMG. I know. Long time no update. LIKE A FRICKEN LOOOOONG TIME. To me, it's long. I am so sorry. I've been really busy with my birthday and all. And school. And Alice in Wonderland practice. Ugh. I'm getting so stressed. BUT ANYWAYS! Enjoy this chapter!!! There's no Brandon in it but there is a LOOOOT of Matthew. This is, in fact, more of a Matthew chapter LOL.

Chapter 15 (Girl V.S. Boy)
I dreaded the next day. Would I be swarmed with questions about Brandon’s suspension? Would I be laughed at because of my drenched wardrobe yesterday? I sighed and made my way into the crowd of people forming in front of the school.
Suddenly, a hand caught my arm. I spun around to become face to face with Jacob, Janice, and Matthew. “Brandon is suspended,” Jacob said, dropping his hand from my arm.
I nodded. “I know,” I said.
We stayed silent, just looking at each other. Even though no one was talking, the silence was just as loud. “Look, we miss you and Brandon isn’t here,” Janice said, frowning.
I nodded again. “I miss you, too,” I said, meaning it.
“Well? Since Brandon is suspended for a whole week, you can hang out with us again. That’s why you didn’t, right? Because Brandon was in the way?” Matthew asked, grinning.
I sighed. “I missed you guys a lot but I really don’t want to replace Brandon anymore than I already have. Won’t he be pissed?” I asked.
Jacob scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Who cares? You are our friend. Brandon has to deal with it. Besides, I think deep down, he likes you,” he said, shrugging.
I chuckled. “Way deep.”
“So will you?” Matthew asked, looking at me with hopeful eyes.
All of them gave me puppy dog eyes that I couldn’t even look at without a smile spreading across my face. “Of course,” I said, giving in.
Immediately, Janice ran into me, throwing her arms around me. “I’ve missed you! Do you know how hard it was to hang out with just boys?” she asked me, with scolding eyes.
I laughed. “It wasn’t all like you dreamed it would be?” I joked.
Janice shook her head. “No, it really wasn’t. Typical guys… All they want to talk about is girls and sports.”
Matthew threw his hands up in defense. “Excuse me, but the only girl I was talking about was my beautiful baby girl. Jacob was the one drooling over the entire girl population of the school,” he said, smirking.
Jacob glared at Matthew, crossing his arms. “Well, I’m sorry but I don’t have a baby to show off to my friends.”
I shook my head in amusement as the two continued to argue aimlessly, although jokingly. Janice giggled and threw her arm around my shoulder. “It’s good to have you back, Elle.”
I nodded in agreement. “It’s good to be back.”
Just then, the boys came back, laughing their heads off at each other. “Are you good?” I asked, watching as Matthew doubled over, laughing.
Matthew tried to talk but instead, he clutched his stomach tighter as his face burned red from laughing so hard. Jacob laughed, calming down more. “We are good,” Jacob said.
I snickered. “You guys are still the same, I see,” I said.
After calming down, Matthew turned to me. “Hey, so what is this I hear about you quitting the soccer team?” he asked frowning.
