AUTHOR'S NOTE:

WOO HOO NEW CHAPTER! This one was kinda fun to write LOL. Even though nothing really happens in this one... It was more like a fun chapter. I'm weird like that. Might also be updating Supernaturally Yours and The Mistaken Girl today but I don't know if I will have time... Definitely Supernaturally Yours, though LOL. Anyways, enjoy!

Chapter 4 (Girl V.S. Boy)

“Wow, it really looked like you and Brandon were trying to kill each other during dodgeball,” Janice said, nudging me in the shoulder as we walked down the street during lunch.

I snickered, remembering when I hit him straight in the face. “We were just really into the game,” I said casually, shrugging.

“Oh, and is it a love game?” Janice asked, winking at me.

I rolled my eyes. “Oh please, if Brandon has the ability to love anything, it’s himself.”

Janice shook her head in amusement. “He’s never really spoken to a girl before you came. I mean, he’s spoken to girls, of course, but nothing like he speaks with you. Even if it’s words of hate,” she said, chuckling.

All of a sudden, a car pulled up right next to us, almost running us over. “Hey!” I yelped, glaring at the car.

Then, I recognized whose car it was just as a familiar face popped out from the window. “Hey Elle, where are you going for lunch?” Jacob said, giving us a charming smile.

I heard Janice let out a little squeal. “Oh my god, he just totally talked to you!” she whispered to me.

I ignored her, rolling my eyes. “Janice and I are going to walk to MacDonald’s,” I said, slightly wincing at Janice’s fingers digging into my arm out of excitement.

Jacob smiled, looking over to Janice. “Hey Janice, how are you doing today?” he asked, throwing her a heart stopping grin.

“G-good… Really good,” she said, staring at him in awe.

Jacob looked over at me. “Hey, you guys can come with us. Brandon, Matthew, and I are going to this great restaurant we know. We’ll pay; you don’t have to pay a dime.”

“Hey!” I heard Brandon exclaim, just as Jacob flinched back from the window. “What was that for?!” Jacob whined.

After a few moments of muffled talking, Jacob leaned out the window again. “So, do you want to?” he asked.

“Yes!” Janice said immediately.

I shook my head. “I don’t know… Are we going to be late for school?” I asked, not wanting to experience my dad’s wrath.

I thought about my dad getting angry for being late for school. Especially if I was late with boys. “You have nothing to worry about. We won’t be late. If we are late, I’ll take care of it,” Jacob said, looking smug.

I frowned. I looked over at Janice, who was giving me a puppy dog look. I looked over at Jacob, who just looked patient and waiting. Finally, I sighed. “Okay, let’s go,” I said, for the sake of Janice.

Janice looked like she was almost about to die when we got in the backseat. Thankfully, Brandon was in the front seat. “Hey, girls! We are so happy you are coming with us. Especially, Brandon,” Matthew said, hitting the back of Brandon’s seat.

“If you hit my seat one more time, I’ll cut off your hand,” Brandon threatened in a low voice.

Matthew shook his head, rolling his eyes. “He’s being Mr. Cranky Pants, don’t mind him.”
