TJ Hammond x Reader
Cute TJ fluff for marvels_agents100. I'm sure there are a ton of people out there that love thunderstorms and find them relaxing and soothing, but for this it's best to pretend that you hate thunder. Hope this isn't too late to save your TJ loving heart. Enjoy! :)
The sounds of rain pummeling the house filled your ears as you awoke. You blinked the sleep from your eyes and peered out the bedroom window, frowning as the sun was blocked from your view. The sky was a dark gray through the sheet of water constantly falling to the ground. The wind howled as it whipped around the corner of the house, making a high pitched ghostly noise.
A bright light flashed in the sky, followed immediately by a loud crack of thunder. You let out a small scream in surprise, ducking your shaking form back under the covers. The figure beside you shot up from his slumber at the noise.
"(Y/N)?" He asked softly, pulling the covers back a bit. You simply shuffled even farther down the bed. He chuckled lightly, throwing the covers over his own head and pulling you over to him, wrapping his arms around you and kissing the top of your head. "Hey, it's okay. It's okay. I'm right here. Is it the storm?" You nodded quickly, burying your face into his bare chest and nodding. He simply began humming your favorite song in response, rocking back and forth with you in his arms.
"I'm sorry, TJ..." You muttered, shuffling around so you were sitting in his lap instead of sprawled awkwardly across it. Though the pitch black atmosphere underneath the sheets wouldn't allow you to see TJ's face, you knew his eyebrows had pulled together in confusion.
"What are you sorry for, sweetheart?" He asked, pulling his fingers lightly through your hair. You sighed and put your arms around his neck, head resting on his shoulder. He planted a quick kiss on your clothed shoulder.
"I woke you up. For something stu-" Another round of thunder cut you off, causing you to whimper in fright. TJ wrapped his arms securely around you, shushing you softly. "I woke you up for something stupid, probably scared the living crap out of you. I'm sorry TJ," you finally finished, still shaking slightly.
"Hey," he began, pausing to pull you back enough to kiss your temple. "You're scared, that's not a stupid reason. A stupid reason would be you wanting to tell me what you had for breakfast yesterday. Granted, I would still sit and listen, but I would much rather hear you talking about your meals in the morning when I'm actually awake." You laughed a bit, twisting around in his lap so your back was against his chest. He kept his arms around you, his head now on your shoulder as he rocked you back and forth.
"Well, there goes my late night conversation starter I guess," you joked. He laughed in response.
You sat there for a good half hour, listening to the rain pelting the sides of the house from underneath your pile of blankets. Not once did TJ complain as you jumped and ducked and squealed with each rumble of thunder. He simply held you tight and made sure you were able to calm down each time. You couldn't have been more grateful for him, and you smiled as you felt your nervous energy fading away as the rain slacked off to a dull droning in the background. Carefully, you tugged the blankets off of your heads and blinked repeatedly until you were used to the sudden lighting change.
The room had gotten a bit brighter since you went into hiding, the sun peaking out a bit more from behind the clouds. You turned to look at a smiling TJ and planted a quick kiss on his lips. "God, I love you," you expressed before hopping off of the bed and rushing out the door. You heard TJ chuckle from back in your room before he too was racing towards the kitchen. Two pairs of bare feet pounded down the staircase, childish giggles filling the air. You reached the bottom of the stairs and felt a rush of wind hit your back as TJ's arms failed to grab you. You squealed, pushing your legs to go faster. You knew it was no use, TJ's legs were longer than yours and he wasn't quite as clumsy as you were, but you knew you had to try.
"Ha! Gotcha!" He shouted as his hands grabbed your sides, picking you up and tossing your over his shoulder.
"Hey! Put me down!" You argued, playfully pounding your fists against his back. He simply laughed as he carried you to the kitchen.
"Not a chance. Enjoying the view?"
You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest. "No, no I'm not," you lied. Of course, you were perfectly fine with the view you had, but you would never tell him that.
"You're such a liar," he mused, planting your feet back on the ground. "What do you want for breakfast?"

An hour had passed, and the rain still hadn't stopped. Two dirty plates sat on the table waiting to be cleaned, but you wouldn't dare move from your spot on the couch next to TJ, who had recently actually put on his shirt. He had an arm around you as you both watched reruns of some reality TV show you couldn't bother learning the name of. TJ was chuckling each time one of the main people would say something terribly over dramatic, making comments about each person.
"I'm surprised we can even hear her voice. I would think only dogs could hear something that high pitched," he joked before continuing in a high pitched voice much like the woman's on the show, "Life is so hard! I wake up everyday and look at my shoes and realize that the only shoes that match my dress are the same ones I wore yesterday. I don't think I'll ever get through this!"
You laughed, deciding to add on in a similar voice. "I can't smile or be happy because if I do I'll get wrinkles and wrinkles are gross and unnatural!"
"My mom said I can only buy one pair of these $3,000 shoes, but I need at least four colors! I can't believe this!"
You continued your offensive banter for a couple more minutes until you were laughing so hard that you couldn't speak anymore. TJ was doubled over next to you, clutching his stomach as he laughed. If you weren't trying to focus on regaining your breath so you could live, you knew you would've taken a moment to appreciate the way his eyes always crinkled when he laughed, or the brightness of his smile. You knew he wasn't always this happy, and you knew it wasn't an easy fix, but you knew he could be helped. You just had to take it one day at a time, and count every positive moment as a victory. It would take time and it wouldn't be easy, but you could save your TJ.
"(Y/N), come on, let's go out and mess around in the rain!" He exclaimed, jumping up and grabbing your hand to pull you up as well.
"TJ, we'll get sick out there!" You pointed out, hopping up next to him. He grinned and kissed your forehead.
"If you get sick, I'll be here to take care of you, no worries!"
"I meant you too you big nerd."
"Well, if I'm there to take care of you then you're there to take care of me too. See? Everything works out. Let's go!" He countered, tugging you outside and into the freezing cold rain.
You ran around in the rain, dancing and splashing each other until you couldn't feel multiple parts of your body. Your toes and fingers were numb, your nose was red and running, your lips were blue, and your entire body was shaking against the cold. TJ wasn't in a much better state, but you both had smiles on your faces as you tumbled back through the door to get warmed up. You dried off and got dressed before you began making a fire. You could hear TJ in the other room making hot chocolate for you both as you turned the gas on to light the fire. You smiled as the fire sparked to life and sat back, a blanket wrapped around your shoulders. TJ walked into the room minutes later and sat next to you, handing off one of the mugs to you. You took it gratefully and put the blanket over him as well.
You sat in silence for the longest time. You didn't need words as you sat in each other's presence. The small sighs of content were enough. You were curled up into his side, your head on his shoulder and his head on your own. You sat there until the fire died down and the light of day was drained from the sky, and you wouldn't have asked for it any other way.
I hope that was okay! Thanks for reading guys!
