TJ Hammond - Dance With Me

TJ Hammond x Reader

This is super short (not even half a page really) because I'm supposed to be doing homework, but I feel like I haven't updated in forever and I wanted to write something for you guys. The song attached (I hope) is Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley, and it's used in this chapter. Hope you enjoy!

"You're so cute," a voice called fondly over to you, interrupting your immersion in the music. You turned around and smiled brightly at TJ as he sat at the piano, his fingers expertly gliding across the ivory keys. He was stealing small glances at you every few seconds, a small grin taking over his features as he watched your dance merrily.

"Am not," you denied, shaking your head and twirling over to him. You leaned against the piano carefully and watched him play. His face was focused yet relaxed, and his movements were fluid and precise. It was beautiful to watch, truly. 

"Are too. Don't you deny it either, you're the cutest and you know it." He finished the song he was playing before looking up at you and smiling. His eyes sparkled every time they landed on you, and it sent butterflies loose in your stomach. You clapped enthusiastically at his performance. "Hey, let's put the radio on and dance around for a while. No one's home, it'll be great!" He exclaimed excitedly, grabbing your hands and holding them in his own. He pulled you down by your hands and planted a kiss on your lips.

"Sometimes I really believe you're still a child," you teased, and he laughed.

"That's probably because I am, in fact, a child. Plot twist, this is illegal!" TJ joked, standing up and kissing you again. This time it lasted a bit longer, his arm wrapping around your waist before he pulled away and walked over to the iPhone dock in a few long strides. He pulled out his phone and swiped for a few seconds before a smile formed on his face. His hands swiftly placed the phone onto the dock and turned up the volume, a familiar song beginning to play.

"Wise men say only fools rush in..." TJ sang softly with a light smile tugging at the corners of  his lips. The joking look had been wiped from his expression, and he face instead took on a look of utter infatuation. As he made it back over to you, he reached down and gripped one of your hands in his own, holding your intertwined hands up. Your other hand rested on his shoulder, while his other hand sat on your waist. You couldn't help the smile adorning your face as he led you across the hardwood floors in easy motions. 

TJ's eyes stayed fixated on you, blue irises sparkling in the light as he stepped forwards. You, in turn, stepped back. You were overly aware of how little space there was between you and him, and this got your heart beating a bit faster than normal. 

Suddenly, TJ spun you around, catching you by surprise. A small squeal escaped your throat at the unexpected action. Your face was completely red as TJ completed the twirl and pulled you back towards him. This time you were pressed completely against him, and your arm was more around the back of his neck than it was on his shoulder. He chuckled softly, flashing you his bright smile.

"You're so cute," he muttered, closing his eyes and resting his forehead on yours. Your dancing had calmed to a gentle swaying back and forth. Can't Help Falling In Love was still playing, and you could hear TJ humming along softly to the tune. 

You were sure there were things needing to be done. Groceries needing to be bought. Books needing to be read. Bills needing to be paid. Chairs needing to be sat on. Sidewalks needing to be walked on. Parks needing to be seen. You were sure of this, but you didn't care. That could wait. It could all wait. The world could wait. The only person that truly needed you was right there in front of you, swaying to the beat of an old Elvis song and resting his chin on top of your head. That's all you were thinking of as the song was striking its last chords and your head was resting on TJ's chest. All you needed to think about was what was happening at that moment, in that exact place, with that exact person, listening to that exact song. You were sure there were other things needing to be done, but that didn't matter. You had what you needed most of all.

For I can't help falling in love with you.
