TJ Hammond x Kelly

Requested by @Jeffersons_MadLover! Luckily this time I'm already sick (I have been for a month or so, argh) so I can't be cursed by writing one of these this time ;) Hope you enjoy!

You felt your throat burning with each swallowing contraction. Your head was pounding and there was a maddening tickle in the very back of your throat that wouldn't go away no matter how many times your body was wracked with a horrible coughing fit. Every little sniffle earned you harsh glares from your coworkers sitting around you, and many of them tried to scoot their chairs as far from you as they could.

Just as you got over a significantly violent fit of coughing, you heard a chair roll up behind you. A finger tapped you lightly on the shoulder, and you turned to see one of your good friends. You offered them a weak smile.

"What's up?" You asked. They simply rolled their eyes at you.

"Oh come on, Kelly. quit trying to act like you're actually in good enough shape to be working right now and head home. You look dreadful," they admitted bluntly, but you just huffed in amusement.

"I can't use a sick day right now, the year just started. I need to make sure I can use them later in the year," you replied simply. You sniffed quickly as you felt your nose beginning to run again, and your friend quickly reached over you and grabbed a tissue from the box sitting on your desk.

They sat back in their chair and handed you the tissue, making sure to look you in the eyes as they did so. "Go home, Kelly. Seriously."

You just groaned and turned back around, opting to ignore them instead of taking their advice. What if something came up later this year and you didn't have a sick day because you had come down with a cold? Sure, it was a pretty nasty cold, but that didn't mean you were going to leave.

You continued working, but you were in such a dazed state that you didn't realize that your friend was reaching sneakily into your bag. They pulled out your phone and unlocked it. They tapped on the contacts icon and selected the favorite menu. A smile spread across their face as they immediately saw the name they were looking for at the top of the list. They wasted no time in typing out their message and clicking send before slipping your phone back into your bag.

A few minutes passed by. You were gazing off into some random patch of air in front of you when you realized that everyone had started speaking in hushed whispers. People began pointing down the hall and gasping in surprise.

"Is it him?" You heard someone ask quietly, their voice shaking slightly.

"I... I think it is!" Someone else responded, their tone more upbeat and excited. You furrowed your eyebrows and looked up from your desk. What was everyone talking about?

It didn't take long for you to figure it out. You both locked eyes at the same time, and you watched as the grin spread across his face.

"Kelly!" TJ Hammond called from across the room. He began maneuvering around the desks and people between you, everyone trying to make as much room for the president's son as possible as he passed them.

The woman sitting next to you turned to you in shock. "You? What does THE TJ Hammond want with you?" She asked in a whisper. You sighed, shaking your head.

"Not sure, but it better be good," you replied to your coworker before looking up at TJ. He stopped at your desk and stared down at you with a smirk, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his leather jacket. "TJ, what are you doing here?" You wondered aloud, the annoyance clear in your voice. The room was silently now, and you heard a few people take in a sharp breath from the tone you were using with him.
