Chapter 4-Crash

[Joey P.O.V]

I could not believe it. I blinked and shook my head. No. This was horrible.

I look at Shane and he turns around and saw what I wish he did not have to.

[Shane P.O.V]

I was talking to Joey about the reason my phone was destroyed and my bandaged finger until I realized he was not listening. Did he not give a crap…

But I realized he was looking at something in the distance. So I turned in the exact direction he was looking in.

Crash.

I could not believe what I saw.

How could she do this to me.

There, about fifty feet away was Lisa. Making out with another guy.

I didn’t even look and Joey’s face which I knew was in shock.

I ran to the car. As fast as I could. I tried to open it but realized it was Joey’s car. Shit. I broke down in tears. People were staring at me. They didn’t care. Nobody cares. I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Joey.

“Shane..I… I’m so sorry.” Joey said.

“No…you don’t understand.”

“I know. But you’re my bestfriend and seeing you hurt is heartbreaking.”

I start to cry again. Joey puts his arm around my shoulder and tells me it’s going to be okay. I really wish I could believe him.

“Hey Shane, do you want to come over?”

“No. I think I should just go to my mom’s… thanks though.”

“Oh okay, I’ll drive you there.”

I look out the window. How could this happen? It starts to rain, pouring actually. I’ve always love the rain because it helps me hide my tears. Not that I cry a lot, but I used to when I was a kid. My dad use to abuse my mom, and brothers and me all the time. He use to tell me I was worthless. That’s how I basically feel right now. He’s the reason I have trouble trusting people.

I feel Joey put his hand on top of mine. I know he’s just trying to comfort me. I look at him and he smiles at me. If it wasn’t for Joey I’d probably die. Seriously. He’s helped me through so much pain and especially now.

We arrived at my mom’s house a couple of minutes later. I took my seatbelt off and leaned over to Joey.

[Joey P.O.V]

OMG.OMG

Shane was leaning over towards me and gave me a kiss on the cheek. He got out of the car. I started blushing. I waved and he did too.

Ugh.

I just wish it would be easy to tell him how I felt. But he had a bigger situation to deal with. I understood that. I needed to be here for him. I drove off back to my place. But then I realized I had to deal with something too. Lisa.

[Shane P.O.V]

I rang the door bell and waited for my mom to answer.

She opened the door.
