" What would birthday boy want for breakfast on his special day?" I ask Jason who was safely seated in his high chair. Today, Jason was finally turning one. It felt like yesterday he was just born.
Jason shrugs his shoulders. I roll my eyes and brush my fingers through his growing hair.
" How about some cheerios cupcake? Would you like cheerios?" I ask.
" No!" Jason squeals. I let out a sigh. Ever since he heard Kaylee say the word no at the beginning of the month, that's been his favorite word. I grab the box of cheerios and pour some on his tray. He immediately grabbed one of the cheerios and shoved it in his mouth. I roll my eyes.
" You're one silly boy." I say sitting down next to him on a chair.
" No!" Jason squeals as he shoves another cheerio in his mouth. I roll my eyes and look down at my phone. I hear footsteps walk into the kitchen and Jason squeal," Da!"
I turn around to see Liam, Luke, and Kaylee walking into the kitchen. Liam and Luke looked really tired while Kaylee was wide awake. I still don't understand where she gets her morning energy from. She runs up to me.
" Hi mummy! Hi birthday Jason!" Kaylee says. I smile at her.
" Hello peanut." I say placing a kiss on the top of her head. Luke walks to his spot at the table and lays his head on the table. I feel Liam kiss the top of my head. I look up to meet his lips. We part from each other and I look at Liam.
" Hi Li." I say.
" Hello Mill." Liam says. He sits in the chair next to me. He places his hand on my thigh and looks at Jason.
" How's my little birthday boy?" Liam asks.
" No!" Jason squeals. Liam smiles.
" Must be a good morning, then, right baby?" Liam asks. Jason nods his head.
" Mummy, when is people coming over?" Kaylee asks.
" Not for a while." I say. I look at Luke who looks like he fell asleep again.
" Lukey, you awake?" I ask. Luke sits up and opens his eyes. He looks at me.
" Hi mommy." Luke says.
" Lukey, if you're still tired, go back to sleep." I say. Luke nods his head and walks out of the kitchen and back upstairs. I shake my head and look at Liam.
" He's not a morning person because of you." I say.
" You're not a morning person either." Liam says.
" But you're worse than me." I say.
" No!" Jason squeals. I look at Jason.
" Don't you argue with me young man. Just because it's your birthday doesn't mean you get to sass me." I say. Jason lets out giggles.
" Mummy, what's for breakfast?" Kaylee asks. I look at Kaylee sitting at her spot at the table.
" What do you want for breakfast?" I ask.
" Pancakes!" Kaylee exclaims.
" No." Jason says. Kaylee looks at Jason.
" I can have pancakes Jay!" Kaylee says.
" No." Jason says. Kaylee looks at Liam.
" Daddy, Jay being mean to me!" Kaylee pouts.
" Princess, you know he's been saying the word no recently. He learned that from you, you know. He's not being mean." Liam says. Kaylee crosses his arms.
