Sarah:
The Next Day
"I think you're over doing it!" I complained as she straightened my already straight hair.
"Am not! You've always had these really loose loose waves. I have to fix that!" Victoria said furrowing her brow while she worked on my hair.
"It's straight! My hair looks fine." i replied, frowning.
"No it doesn't." I was quiet. I stared at her reflection in the mirror until she caught my eye. Victoria hit my shoulder playfully. "You know i didn't mean it like that. Your hair is beautiful. I'm just making it look even better." My hair was anything but beautiful. Plain, boring and light brown in color. It didn't draw too much attention so I usually tied it up or let it fall over one of my shoulders. "Done!" Victoria exclaimed putting down this bottle of hair product. She allowed me to look in the mirror and wow. My hair did look way better like this. It was sleek and silky to the touch. I immediately started to braid it. Something I had just subconsciously began doing. Victoria swatted my hands away.
"I'll do it and it'll look better" she said defiantly. I sighed as I sank back into the chair. She started tugging at the strands of my hair. Victoria let me have a look when she was finished and it did look better than my usually messy braids. She brought the tail of my hair around the side so it hung off my right shoulder. "Now onto clothes!" Victoria cried out charging into my closet. I groaned and followed her out of the bathroom.
Niall:
I tugged nervously at the end of my plain white shirt. Harry had made some crack about the band Plain White T's before I left. I ignored him. Licking my lips I went back to pulling at the loose thread on my dark jeans. We said we would dress casual but that could mean different things for the both of us. I tried to go simple. I looked again at the directions i had given the driver just to make sure we were going the right way. I didn't really need a driver but somebody had to be there if we needed to make a speedy getaway. Fans are crazy.
We pulled up next to a simple two story house that was white with blue trim. The lights were on outside. I got out of the car and shut the door. I heard a window open and looked up. Victoria was staring down at me. She gasped shouted something that sounded like He's here and Hurry up behind her before shutting the window and drawing the curtains. I walked up to the door and knocked.
Unfortunately. I was greeted by her dad. Well a man who I assumed was her dad. They had the same eyes and same welcoming smile but there was something else in his expression. Which was probably the overprotective dad shinning through. "Hi." I said sticking out my hand. "I'm Niall." after a moment he returned the handshake.
"I'm Sarah's dad." he said calmly. I pursed my lips waiting for him to say something else. "Was that an accent I detected?" he asked simply.
"Yes.. Sir." I added after a second. "I'm Irish." he nodded.
"Call me Mr. Collins by the way. None of that sir crap. I'm not that old." I was surprised by his language but nodded.
"Robert!" came a shriek. Victoria appeared shoving him out of the doorway. I was a bit shocked but apparently this was something they did. "Don't scare him off!" she said crossing her arms. His laughter boomed down the street.
"I'm not! I swear!" he called back, crossing his heart and putting a hand up.
"Uh huh. That's why he looks like he's about to run." she replied still glaring at him. Neither of them looked at me as I said,
"No I'm not." rather quietly.
"What am I gonna do it's my daughters first date?" Mr. Collins replied sheepishly.
"Psh i had that date years ago." Victoria said waving her hand down. They considered her their daughter? I guess if they've know each other a while... He laughed again.
"How about my second daughter's first date then?" he amended .
"Fine fine. Just shoo! Off with you." Victoria turned away from him as he walked down the hall chuckling. "She'll be down in a couple minutes." she said brightly looking at me.
"How long have you and Sarah known each other, and did you just call him by his first name?" I asked. She rolled her eyes and motioned for me to follow her inside.
"Since diaper days. Yeah why not. Sarah does the same with mine." she replied. I heard light foot falls behind me. Turning I saw Sarah making her way towards us. She was tugging at the sleeves of her black and white stripped shirt. I noticed how the shoulders were cut out a replaced with lace. Sarah looked up at me for a second and did a double take. "I'll leave you two alone." Victoria hissed. I could just hear the maniacal laughter she was trying to hide. Sarah bit her lip as her best friend walked past her patting Sarah on the head before heading up the stairs.
Sarah stepped closer to me but stopped. I finished the distance and stared down at her. She was messing with the handle of her dark bag. She wore dark shorts that hit the middle of her thighs and light pink sneakers. Her hair braided down her back. Gorgeous.
"You look amazing." I said as i reached out and touched her hair. Sarah blushed.
"T-Thanks." she stammered out. "You do too." I smiled as she looked down. I heard a Snap! and we turned to look at Victoria.
"Opps. Camera slipped." she said casually. "Opps there it goes again. " she said as it flashed a second time.
"Victoria!" Sarah cried out blushing hard and hiding her face.
"What!? I'm capturing the moment! You'll thank me later." she said as she quickly took another picture before disappearing.
"Come on." Sarah mumbled grabbing my right hand with her left and heading for the door. Once we were outside she let go of my hand and shut the door behind us. I expected her to take my hand again but she didn't. So I grabbed it as we walked down to the car. I don't think I've ever seen someone blush so much in such a short amount of time. When I opened the door for her she murmured out a thanks and got in. Her cheeks were still flushed. I held back my laughter as i got in beside her.
