Up in the Trees

Niall:

I felt like banging my head against the wall. It was ten o'clock on a Monday and i was bored out of my mind. The boys and Eleanor were all rushing around packing and cleaning even though i would be here another week. I guess they don't trust me enough to clean up this place. Then again i wouldn't trust myself either. I could always ask a cleaning lady to come by though. I put my elbow down on the arm of the sofa and watched as Eleanor ran in and out of the room with Louis at her side. I think she lost an earring or something. It's always little things like this that happen when you're trying to pack and go back home.

Harry flopped down on the couch next to me. He had decided to stay with me for the rest of the week. He loves L.A more than he should. He always jokes about moving down here. He might one day. Who knows. He leans back and puts his hands behind his head. "It's funny watching them fret." he says in his deep voice. I roll my eyes at him. "So what are you doing today?" he asked picking up his old battered copy of Wuthering Heights. I don't know how many times he's read that thing but he takes it everywhere we go. He can even recite whole paragraphs from it. I asked him once why he only brought just the one book. He told me it was easier than carrying around half a library. "Are you and Sarah planning on doing something?" he asked.

"Yeah but later. After she finishes school." i reply.

"Oh yeah. Little scholar. What does she want to do?" Harry asked looking up at me from his book. I was taken a back. What did she want to be? I've never asked. To be quite honest, Sarah and i don't know much about each other. I don't even know when her birthday is.

"I.. I don't know." i reply honestly. Harry just nods and goes back to reading. Eleanor and Louis appear with luggage in their hands. With a sigh and a thud Eleanor drops her suitcase on the ground. Louis sets his next to her's lightly.

"Is Zayn even up?" Eleanor asked. We all looked at each other thoughtfully. I don't remember seeing him.

"Yeah. I'm right here." a voice called out behind them. Zayn emerged lugging a suitcase behind him. He loves Victoria but he really misses his family. Besides Victoria was making plans to fly out to England for a little while. Meet Zayn's family, see all the sights. Sarah's parents would never let her do that. It wouldn't be so bad staying out here for another week. That would mean i got to spend less time with my family. If i left now though, not only would Sarah be upset but we would't see each other for quite sometime. There was really no way i could win in this situation.

"Payno!" Louis shouted.

"Yeah yeah coming!" Liam replied coming down from the hallway. He set his suitcase down and looked at Harry and I. "There's enough food in here to last a week probably, you both eat a lot." Liam said. He always gives us instructions on what to do. I'm 20 now and Harry's 19 i think we could manage on our own for a week. "Don't get into any trouble or management will be on our asses. Harry." Liam said staring at him.

"What! I never do anything bad!" Harry protests a giant smile on his face. Liam shakes his head and Eleanor laughs.

"Don't hurt yourselves or completely destroy this house ok?" Liam asked. I waved him away.

"We're not children Liam." i replied.

"Yeah but you act like it." Liam said sternly.

"So do you." Louis said tackling him to the ground. They wrestled for a while and we all laughed at them. Liam finally threw Louis off of him laughing as he stood up to help him stand. Eleanor grabbed Louis' hand and smiled up at him. Louis had told us he was planning on proposing soon. He had already asked her parents. He was just waiting for the right time.
