We arrived at the hospital and they lifted Nate out of the ambulance onto a stretcher and began to rush him through the hospital to the emergency room. His Father and I chased after them following him until I stopped clenching onto my stomach in pain not able to run any longer. I looked up and watched Nate disappear into a room with a bunch of doctors as a blonde haired nurse spotted me and rushed over to me.
"Ma'am? Are you ok?"
"I need to be with him can you take me to him? Please."
"I'd like to examine you to make sure you and your baby is ok."
I spoke up above my heavy breathing.
"Babies."
"Ok.. twins?"
"Yes but I'm only 36 weeks it's too early."
"What's your name?"
"Aliyah Dawson."
"Ok Aliyah you need to relax ok and breathe we're gonna get you a room here."
"No please I need to see my boyfriend, I don't want a room."
"I understand but they're gonna take good care of him and we're gonna do the same for you if you'll let us."
I nodded and the blonde nurse and another brown haired nurse began to lift me up into a wheel chair and roll me into an empty room where I was helped up into the bed.
"Is their anyone you'd like us to call for you?"
"Yes my Mum I need her to be here."
"Ok I'll get right on it for you."
"Thank you."
I dozed off for a few minutes until I heard a voice calling out to me.
"Aliyah?"
I opened my eyes to see my Mum and Dad standing there by my bedside.
"Mum? Dad? Have you heard anything on Nate?"
"Yes his parents called me to say that he's resting at the moment but he's gonna be fine."
Tears began to form in my eyes.
"That's what they said about Arlia."
"Sweetie don't think about that you'll only worry yourself everything's gonna be fine."
"No it's not the babies are coming but I don't want them too, I'm not ready."
My Mum grabbed my hand and crouched down beside my bed.
"I know sweetie but that's there choice they've decide that your ready to be their Mummy and they want to come out and meet you."
"I can't Mum not without Nate he needs to be here with me."
"Maybe a bit later your too exhausted."
"I need to see him now I need to see for my own eyes that he's ok."
"The nurses told that your blood pressure was high and that you need to rest as much as you can."
"I don't care."
"Please sweetie."
I grabbed the side rail of the bed and sat up sitting there for a few seconds until then my Dad placed his arms around my back pulling me to a stand. I waddled over to the door holding onto my stomach and turning back to my Mum.
"Which room is he in?"
My Mum sighed knowing that I wasn't going to back down.
"I'll take you."
My mum helped me down the corridor to Nate's hospital room. I sat in the chair by Nate's side waiting for him to wake up as I felt a sharp pain across my back every few minutes. Eventually Nate opened his eyes and sat up holding his head.
"Are the babies ok?, I'm sorry I had to push you out of the way."
I grabbed Nate's hand and placed it on my belly.
"They're perfectly fine you saved us, what about you are you ok?"
"Yeah just a little sore but I wasn't worried about me."
"You should be you were hit by a car."
"I know see how much I love you."
I smiled at him.
"Yeah? Well you broke my water that doesn't seem much like love to me."
I began to laugh as Nate stared at me in shock as he looked down at my belly.
"Your in labour?"
"Yes not that far along though, yet."
"Should I call somebody for you don't you need to be reseting?"
"No but you should be just relax ok."
"Shouldn't you be in your room?"
"I'm suppose to be but I needed to see you."
"You should be being monitored to make sure everything goes ok."
"Everything's fine the doctor already examined me."
Another contraction began and I pushed myself back in my seat trying to get through it without screaming. I felt Nate grab my hand.
"Please let me take you back to your room."
"I'll go back but you have to stay here."
"You can't do this on your own I need to be there for you like I promised I would."
"No I need you to be here and recover."
I lifted myself out of the chair and walked out of the room holding onto my stomach where my Mum was waiting.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
