Chapter 48: Aliyah

I opened my eyes to see a plain white room and had no idea where I was until I turned my head to see Nate knelt down by my bedside. My head was pounding as I spoke up softly.
"Nate."
He looked up in shock.
"Aliyah your awake I was so worried."
I sat up in the bed and felt dizzy for a short moment.
"What happened?"
"You don't remember?"
"The last thing I can think of was meeting Caitlyn in the hall at school and then..."
I paused in the middle of my sentence as I remembered the punch and laying helpless on the ground.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah."
I touched my eye and cringed from the pain as Nate handed me his phone and I began to I stared at my reflection.
"It doesn't look as you'd as you'd think."
"It looks exactly like it feels."
"To me you still look beautiful like sleeping beauty, except my kiss couldn't wake you up and there was nothing I could do."
"Your too sweet what did I do to deserve you."
Nate smiled and kissed me softly on the lips.
"I'm thinking the same."

After my parents had been in to see me Nate came back in and pulled a white chair over which he sat in next to my bed.
"I missed you."
"I was only outside for 20 minutes."
"I know but my parents were asking me so many questions about what happened."
"I'm so sorry."
"What for?"
"Caitlyn, this is all my fault what happened to you."
"No it's not it's mine for meeting up with her and not telling you."
"Yeah but none of this would have happened if I didn't date her before you."
"Nate it's ok I'm fine, Caitlyn is in the passed just a random ex."
"A random psycho ex."
"True."
"So why did you meet her in the first place?"
"She was threatening the twins, she didn't hurt them did she?"
"No they're safe they're at home."
"At home but my parents are here, who's watching them?"
"My mum."
"What!"
"They're ok I promise there just wasn't anybody else I could ask."
"Why didn't you ask Lexi? She loves babysitting them."
"She was busy today."
"Oh ok."
"I should go but I'll be back first thing in the morning I promise."
"Do you have to?"
"Yeah mum has a meeting tonight so I promised I'd be home by 5:00."
"Ok, could you just do one favour for me?"
"Sure anything."
"Ask Lexi to come by I really wanna see her."
"I'll see what I can do, I love you."
"I love you too."

I sat on the lounge and watched the twins not knowing what to do. I heard Reed laugh as Luna squealed in excitement at her brother. They didn't deserve to be stuck in the middle of this. I wanted to tell Aliyah the truth about what happened between Lexi and I but I was scared of how she would react of coarse she would be mad but how mad? I looked at the twins once more and sighed. "I don't want to ruin anything for you two."
They needed both parents so they didn't grow up missing out on something.
"If I tell your mummy she might take you's away from me, what should I do?"
I knew they had no idea what I was saying but at least I had then to talk to. I wouldn't get an answer but I already knew the right one getting it out to them just seemed to help.
"I have to tell her but not until she's strong enough to handle it, she doesn't need anymore stress at the moment."
Reed stared at me as if he understood before turning to suck on his thumb.
"Thanks for listening guys it really helped but daddy should probably get you's ready for bed now we can talk more in the morning."
