I laid back on the couch resting my head on Nate's lap as he played his game. I stared up at him and eventually he paused his game and smiled down at me with a confused look on his face.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I just like watching you."
"You don't have to watch you know, we can battle each other."
"No it's ok I'm fine."
"Come on we can make it a family activity."
"This game? I don't think it's appropriate for kids."
"Well then we'll have to find a different family activity?"
"Like what?"
"I have no idea."
"Neither do I."
"Then video games it is."
I snatched the controller off him and held it above his head so that he couldn't reach it.
"Nope."
"Aww no fair your laying on top of me I can't reach it."
"That's the point."
I held his head and gave him a quick kiss on the lips as he grabbed the controller back off me.
"Hey! No stealing during a kiss."
"I'm sorry you should have made the rules more clearer to start with."
"No more kisses then."
"Don't take away my kisses they're irreplaceable especially yours."
"I'll think about returning them but you have to be a good boy."
"I will I promise."
I kissed him on the cheek and leant back smiling.
"Good."
~~~
I heard a car pull into the drive way and I looked out the window to see that it was Nate's parents. "I should go."
"Why?"
"Your parents are here the don't know that I'm pregnant."
"They're gonna find out eventually Ali why not today?"
Nate's parents walked in the door and I could see that their eyes went straight to my stomach. "Ali? Isn't this a surprise."
"Your pregnant?"
I looked at Nate and sat up on the lounge covering my belly with my arms which didn't do anything.
"Oh that yeah, where did that come from."
Nate's dad turned to his wife with a stern look on his face.
"Nate is there something you need to tell us?"
"Aliyah's pregnant."
Nate's mum spoke up.
"Yeah we can see that, who's the father?"
"I am."
"And you didn't feel that you should tell us after all this time?"
"I only just found out myself last week."
"How have you not know?"
"I kept it a secret until he showed up at my house I had the holidays to hide it."
Nate's mum stared at me in disgust. "Maybe you should leave I'd like to talk to my son alone."
"No I invited her over you can't just kick her out."
"No Nate it's probably best if I leave."
"Aliyah wait."
"I'm sorry."
I grabbed my bag trying to avoid making eye contact with his parents and hugged Nate. "I'll see you later."
"Bye."
