Chapter 51: Nate

My parents went to work and I stayed home laying in my bed not knowing what to do or how to fix my mess. I closed my eyes but immediately opened them again when I heard the door bell ring. I raced down stairs and opened the door hoping to see Aliyah but was disappointed when I saw the last person in the world I wanted to see at the moment.
"Lexi."
"Can I come in?"
"What for?"
"I just want to talk."
"There's nothing to be said."
"Please Nate I won't stay long I promise."
I let Lexi walk in and the two of us stood awkwardly in front of each other in the lounge room.
"You've got 5 minutes."
"I'm so sorry Nate."
"Sorry? That's not gonna do anything it can't make Ali forgive me."
"I know and I feel so bad about that but it wasn't just my fault Nate you have to accept some of that blame."
"I was upset and you thought alcohol would fix everything it doesn't it just makes everything worse and now I've lost the people I love."
"That's why I'm here I want to fix things."
"How do you expect to do that?"
"I'll talk to Ali for you and explain everything."
"She won't listen I love her but I know how stubborn she is."
"I'll do my best anything to help you and your family I know what it's like growing up with a broken family and it sucks I don't want that for you two and the twins."
"I'm sorry for overreacting and being such an ass to you."
"It's ok I know how you feel nobody likes loosing someone they care about."
"Have you spoken to her yet?"
"No but I'm pretty sure she hates me too at the moment."
"We're both on that team."
"I just want to know that we can be friends again and that things can go back to how they were before this."
"It'll probably be a bit different but I'd never want to loose you as a friends we've been through too much to just let it all go."

I leant in and hugged Lexi as she pulled away wiping away tears that's filled her eyes.
"I should probably get going."
"Yeah probably."
"I'll tell you how it goes with Ali."
"Thanks good luck."
