Chapter 39: Aliyah

I sat curled up on my bed and I heard my bedroom door open then foot steps. I immediately turned around startled to see Nate afraid that it would be Caitlyn.
"What happened to you? I didn't see you all day."
"My mum picked me up after English."
"You had English first period what happened?"
"I needed to come home."
"You can tell me anything Ali."
"I saw Caitlyn today."
"Did she do something to you?"
"No but she said something."
Nate sat down on the bed next to me and place his hand on my back.
"What was it?"
"She wanted me to tell you that she was sorry."
"Sorry? She's not the kind that apologies."
"No she said sorry for running you over and that she was meant to hit me instead."
"You mean the car accident?"
"I think so she didn't say exactly that."
I could see the furious look on Nate's face.
"She tried to hurt you she tried to hurt my family."
"Nate calm down."
"We need to tell the cops, what if she does something even worse?"
"My dads a police officer lets just talk to him first to see what we should do he's down stairs."
"Ok, let's go."

We found my dad in the living room with the triplets and my mum watching tv.
"Dad can Nate and I talk to you in the kitchen alone?"
My dad looked at my mum with a worried look on his face.
"Sure sweetie."
Nate, my dad and I walked into the kitchen and we all stood there for a moment in silence until I finally spoke up.
"We have a question."
"Your not pregnant again are you? There are enough kids in this house."
"No, no it's about the accident."
"We haven't been able to catch the person responsible yet."
"We know who did it."
"Who?"
"Caitlyn, Nate's ex girlfriend."
"Do you have any evidence that it was her?"
"No she just told us well suggested that it was her but there is no way she could have known unless she did It."
"I'm sorry but there's nothing the police can do not without any proof."
"Ok."
"But if she does anything else like that you can report her but make sure you do or at least tell me."
"We will dad thank you."
Nate and I walked back upstairs to my room.
"So we're just gonna ignore her and forget that she almost tried to kill us?"
Nate sighed.
"We to be if she tries anything else we can go to the cops but there's no point making it worse."
"But we can't be safe with her around."
"I'll keep you safe I promise."
"I hope you can she's a monster."
