" We go to war ", that phrase stuck with me, I had never been a violent person, least of all considered myself a soldier. Barely less than a couple of months ago I had set on the beginning of what were supposed to be our last high school vacations. How could I have ever imagined that it would be the start of a whole new life? I was only barely about to start college and have a successful career, have a bright future, maybe have a family of my own. Though truth be told even when I always wanted to have my own children, imagining myself as mother,  it was scary, also I loved spending time daydreaming about my future husband, which in my case I wanted it to be Tommy, yeah I've been crushing on him ever since we were little and spent our childhoods together. But I realize now that who I was before, the life I used to live, that was all now nothing but a dream, my reality is here, living the now, strapping an automatic combat rifle closer to my chest about to face an enemy with a familiar face. My parents were shocked for me when I first told them what I was doing now, how life had changed me, then after the shockwaves were over then came the tears and the worried ness for me, my dad an ex veteran from the war in the Middle East upon learning that like him I was now a soldier. He had immediately told me that he was coming to join me and in his own words, not mine, told me thw thread coming to tear Tommy a new hole for hurting his little girl. My mom had calmed him down and smiling at my dad had told him that I was a grown woman now and that in order to become who I was meant to be, first I needed to fight my own battles. At  the end my dad had agreed on her view of things and had told me that if I ever needed support, I had my family backing me up. Finally he had drilled me and given combat weapon's and warfare tips, telling me that I was the bravest warrior he had ever helped create and my mom ever had.

" Zoe, are you still here with us ", suddenly my mind was brought back to the present, snapping me out of my memories and focusing back on the present.

After a few embarrassing seconds I realized that Melissa had been the one calling me, she was motioning for me to start moving next to her, looking up I saw the forest mountain scenery surrounding us on all sides, taking a deep steadying breath I started marching upwards, next to my fellow units and alongside my family. Our armed convoys had arrived at the West Virginia Mountains and Forest Ranges, when we had stepped out from our vehicles, we realized we weren't alone because there to greet us were several more government military special units. It had been a pleasant surprise for all of us having more soldiers with us, it gave us a sense of strength in numbers and it made us confident and boosted our moral knowing that even the US government was backing us up and had event sent military reinforcements to us, in an effort to aid us in the war that was brewing against The Blackwell's, against Tommy's Family. We started creeping upwards trough the mountain terrain, the forest was sloped downwards towards the middle road intersecting the terrain in two, we started from the bottom and were making our way upwards. The terrain was thick and hard to navigate in, the trees, pines and various plant life only made the whole place seen more scarier and creepier, to add to the sense of terror everywhere we moved trough shadows dotted the ground, making us be on edge and be wary of an ambush, always on the look out we were. Even though we were heavily armed and were covering ground more faster than we originally had thought we would it still was scary. After all we were now on Tommy's lands, on his  home and in his home turf, this was the Devil's Playground, demons and devils waiting to pop out at us and drag us all the way downwards to the Underworld and to Tartarus. We continued moving upwards trough the forest environmental underbrush, searching for anything or anyone that my pose a threat because you see, we  knew now that not only were Tommy and Blackwell mercenary army our only hostiles enemies but also those mutant hillbilly monsters freaks. On our way here we came across hundredths of hillbilly corpses all rotten and bled dry, it let us know that Tommy's forces had already engaged some of them in combat. And due to the fact that I've seen how those freaks tried to burn Tommy alive then attempted to eat him, it really came as no surprise that Tommy had taken revenge on them. As I pondered over this matter, subconsciously I started to twirl Tommy's ring against my fingers, this was already something I did without seemingly thinking about it, Tommy had given it to me, telling me that as long as I wore my ring no harm would ever come to me. The ring would ward off all evil, even those hillbilly freaks, so far Tommy's words had proven to be the truth. A few hours passed and still nothing had happened, the forest was eerily quiet, not even a single animal could be hear or seen for that matter, the silence unnerved me, like the calm before the storm. We kept our eyes and ears sharp even keeping the radios communicators chatter to the  minimum often communicating and signaling to each other using hand signals as to not make any noise but it soon became apparent that there was truly no one here the only ones alive in this place was us. We kept our progress, steadily advancing deeper into the forest our main goal was to reach the hill crest in front of us stablish a forwarding lookout position and rest for tonight, darkness was upon us as the sun started to go down and it's rays started to become more feeble. Suddenly out of nowhere our frontal scouts lookouts halted and signaled for the rest of us to hunker down and lay low, I got on my knee and locked and loaded  my weapon, the rest of my family did the same. Max was next to me, I reached out slowly towards him  wondering what was going on,
