~ Killian ~
Today was the first day back at work in a while. With everything happening with the wedding, the baby and babysitting, we had forgotten about work. Luckily, Liam had two people filling in for us. Today we were going to meet them. All I knew was that it was a boy and a girl.
I got dressed in my usual work clothes and headed to work. I began to prepare glasses as people began to walk in. I saw one girl with black wavy hair walk in and she put on an apron. I watched as she walked to the counter and grabbed a tray. I put my hand out to catch her attention.
"Woah! What do you think you're doing?" I asked.
She looked up and smiled, "I'm just working".
I kept watching her as she looked around the room. She looked back at me with a confused look.
"Aren't you going to make drinks?" She asked.
I nodded, "Aye, sorry lass".
I quickly got drinks ready and placed them on the tray. She smiled and walked away with the tray. I heard the door open and looked up to see Emma putting her jacket on the rack. I let out a sigh of relief. She walked up to the bar and grabbed a tray.
"You're late" I said with a smirk.
She rolled her eyes, "15 minutes never hurt anybody".
She turned and noticed the girl serving drinks. She quickly looked back at me, "You got a new waitress?".
I nodded, "I think she's the girl who filled in for us...she just walked in and got to work".
Emma nodded and I placed a drink on the tray. Emma gave me a slight smile before turning and serving drinks.
-------------
I noticed the girl walk over and place her tray on the counter. "Another scotch on rocks!" She said. I nodded and began to make the drink.
"So I never got your name" she said as she leaned against the counter.
I shrugged, "I never gave it".
She rolled her eyes, "My names Milah". I looked up at her and chuckled, "That's a rare name".
"What's yours?" She asked, ignoring my comment. "Killian" I replied and continued making the drink.
"That's rare as well" she said with a smile. I rolled my eyes, "Fine, you win". She smiled proudly as I placed the drink on the tray.
"So you're the only bartender here?" She asked. I nodded. "Doesn't that get lonely?" She asked as she leaned even closer, making her cleavage more visible. I looked away and grabbed a glass.
"My girlfriend keeps me company" I replied as I made another drink.
"You have a girlfriend?" She asked. I nodded and pointed at Emma, "The beautiful blonde over there".
Milah looked over and stared for a while. I smirked and started to wipe down the counter. Milah looked back over at me.
"I've seen better" she said with a sigh.
I chuckled, "It doesn't get better than that".
I knew what she was doing. She was flirting with me. I laughed in my head at how much I was turning her down. Before Emma, I never would've said no to a girl flirting. But I love Emma, and I don't want anyone else.
Milah picked up the tray and shrugged, "If you guys ever don't work out, you'll know where to find me". She winked and walked away.
"Yeah, in hell" I mumbled under my breath as I rolled my eyes.
I went back to work and started making more drinks.
-------
Emma put the tray on the counter and sighed. I chuckled, "Tired?". She looked over at me and nodded, "Very".
I decided not to tell Emma about Milah's little flirting game because she didn't need to stress out about it. It meant nothing to me, that made it useless to mention.
I made the drink and put it on the tray. "Wanna go do something after work?" I asked.
She nodded, "What do you want to do?". I shrugged, "Go get some ice cream or something". She jumped up, "Ice cream sounds amazing!".
I grinned, "Great! Sounds like a plan". She nodded and picked up the tray.
---------
Our shift ended so we got ready to leave. Spring was finally here and I couldn't be happier.
We drove to a nearby ice cream shop and got some ice cream. I got chocolate and Emma got vanilla. We sat down on a picnic table outside the ice cream place and locked out ice cream. We watched hundreds of cars drive by.
"What do you think of the new girl?" Emma asked as she looked over at me.
"Milah?" I asked as I questioned why Emma would bring her up.
"Yeah" she replied and licked her ice cream. I shrugged, "She's a bit irritating".
Emma chuckled, "She kept rating every guy she saw...and she tried to get me to rate guys".
"Rate?" I asked curiously.
She nodded, "Like rate how hot they are on a scale of 1-10". I nodded in understanding.
I smirked, "Did you rate anyone?".
She rolled her eyes, "Of course not...I told her I had a boyfriend and I wasn't interested in checking out other guys".
I laughed, "What was her reaction to that?". Emma shrugged, "She just kept serving".
"What did she do to make you irritated?" Emma asked.
I shrugged, "She's just irritating...and she did try to flirt with me".
Emma's eyes widened, "What?!". She stopped licking her ice cream and turned to face me, "She flirted with you?!".
I nodded, "It's ok...you know I love you". She smiled at me.
"What did you say to her?" She asked.
I began to laugh which made Emma smile. "Oh no, what did you say?" She asked trying to be serious.
I chuckled, "A lot...she said that she's seen prettier than you, I told her that you're as pretty as it gets". Emma began to blush and she looked down.
I chuckled, "It got one hell of an reaction out of her". Emma laughed, "I bet".
"Did she say anything else?" She asked. I shook my head, "Just a bunch of sweet nothings".
