''Wake up Kendra!'' Sodapop shouts while hopping onto you.
You groan and throw a pillow over your face.
''Not now Soda... Go away..'' You groan.
''Come on little sis, you know you love oatmeal...'' Sodapop smiles.
Your eyes goes wide and you jump out of bed. You fly down the stairs with Sodapop. When you reach the bottom you see Darry putting oatmeal into a bowl. He sets it down and looks at you.
''Come and eat little sis.'' Darry says while motioning you towards the table.
You walk over and sit down with Sodapop. You lift the spoon up to your mouth but than look across the table. You put down the spoon and observe the seat. You felt like something was missing.
''Ponyboy! Get down here!'' You shout upstairs like you do every morning.
You suddenly hear footsteps running down the stairs, it was Ponyboy. He went over and hopped into the seat.
''Hey guys! What's for breakfast this morning?'' Ponyboy asks while looking at your food.
''Oatmeal.'' You answer for him.
''Sorry Pony, but I only had enough for Kendra.'' Darry says while wiping his hands from washing them.
''I'll share with you.'' You say while sitting over by Ponyboy.
Ponyboy grabs another spoon and you two share the oatmeal. After that, he burped loud and everyone looked at him.
''New record eh Pony?'' Sodapop smiles.
Ponyboy rolls his eyes and looks at you.
''Kendra, you wanna go hang with me and Johnny? We're going to go egg Cherry's house.'' Ponyboy snickers.
''Oh would I!'' You shout while standing up with Ponyboy.
You take your jacket and start heading towards the door, but you got stopped by Sodapop.
''Wait there little missy, you ain't going anywhere.'' Sodapop says while taking your arm.
''But Soda! I want to go egg Cherry's house! Please!'' You beg him.
Sodapop lets out a big sigh and pulls you into a hug.
''You stay safe okay Kendra? I don't want you getting into too much trouble,'' Sodapop whispers into your ear.
''I promise Soda, now let me go, you're crushing me.'' You say while getting squeezed.
''Love you Kendra.'' Sodapop kisses you on the head and lets you go.
You let out a big gasp of air. You smile at Sodapop and leave with Ponyboy. As you get there, you had such a fun time. When you head home, you were talking to Ponyboy.
''I'm scared Darry's gonna be mad at us, ya know? I mean, we're way passed cerfew.'' Ponyboy said in a worried voice.
''Don't worry Pony, maybe he's not going to be that mad.'' You say while opening the door.
You walk into the house, you see Darry looking at Ponyboy with an angry face. Darry started yelling at Ponyboy, it was making you sad. You go over towards Sodapop and hold onto his arm. Darry suddenly shoves Ponyboy. You watch as Ponyboy stands up and runs out the door. You chase after Ponyboy, but Sodapop holds you back. You see Ponyboy run down the street, tears started to well up. Darry comes up to you and pats you on your back. You smack his hand away and look at him.
''HOW COULD YOU DO THIS DARRY?! I THOUGHT YOU LOVED PONYBOY! THANKS TO YOU HE'S RUN OFF WHO KNOWS WHERE!!'' You yell at him tears falling everywhere.
You run upstairs into your room. You slam the door and start to sob into your pillow. You suddenly hear the door open, you turn your head. It was Sodapop.
''What do you want Soda..'' You sigh with a few sobs here and there.
''Kendra.. This isn't the first time he's ran away. He'll come back, I'm pretty sure.'' Sodapop says while sitting on your bed.
''Well.. It's just.. I miss him.'' You say while laying down on the bed.
Sodapop lies beside you and wraps his arms around you.
''It's going to be alright Kendra.. I know.'' Sodapop whispers close to you.
You suddenly fall asleep in Sodapop's arms. As you fall asleep you have a dream of Ponyboy coming back and everything was fine. And the next morning, you found him with Johnny. And he was fine, he came home and worked everything out. Everything turned out alright, just like Sodapop said.
