Socs and greasers weren't allowed to be interact with each other, talk to each other or even be seen with each other. Unfortunately for you, you were the little sister of three greasers. Darrel Curtis. Sodapop Curtis and Ponyboy Curtis. Overprotective would be an understatement when it came to them looking over you. The problem of having three greasers as older brothers would be that it's deathly forbidden to fall in love with a Soc, but here you were, gawking all over the one boy who stole your heart, Chad Springfield. The most popular Soc in school.
"You must be insane trying to go after somebody like Chad Springfield." your best friend said, popping a piece of candy into her mouth. "May I remind you, you've got three older brothers who won't even allow you to like boys in your grade. Imagine their reaction when they find out that you're crushing on somebody in a grade above you."
She shivered as her reaction, along with tossing a handful of M&M's into her mouth. You thought she was overreacting about the whole scenario.
"My brothers don't know about nothin' Donna. You're the only person I've ever told about this crush I have on Chad." you reassured. "And it'll stay that way, right?"
Donna nodded in agreement, her mouthful of M&M's. She then faced forward, her eyes widening. You saw her reaction and shifted ahead as well, only to see the boy you've been talking about making his way up to you. His eyes were locked on you, which meant you had to keep your cool and not show any signs of nervousness. You didn't want to scare him away.
The dimples inside of his cheeks deepened as he reached you, revealing his pearly whites. You could see from the corner of your eye that he was sliding his hand in his pocket. Next thing you knew, he slipped out of a piece of folded up paper and purposefully dropped it in front of you. You looked him straight in his bluebell eyes, only to receive a wink from him that about made your heart explode.
Although he didn't stick around to talk with you, that simple wink made your day. On the other hand, you knew he was trying to play it safe with the whole social classes and such. Donna, ignorant as always, snatched the paper away from you before you could a hold of it.
"Donna!" you hissed, swiping the paper back from her. She frowned. "He dropped it to me not you."
Turning away from Donna, you heedfully unfold the piece of paper. She breathed down your neck as you privately read it to yourself. A smile was creeping across your face, you couldn't believe it, you had just gotten asked on your first date.
"Stop trying to hide it from me (Y/N)!" donna whined impatiently. "Tell me what it says please."
You folded it back up and tossed it over to Donna. She fumbled it inside of her hands for a few seconds before she got a grip on it and began to eagerly unfold it. You watched her reaction build through the process of her reading it. In the end, she folded it up and smiled widely at you.
