He was about to answer me when his phone rang. Hindi ko nga alam na dala niya pala ang cellphone niya
He smiled widely when he saw who was calling. Sinagot niya ito "Hello pare. Hold on a second, I'll put you on speaker"
He clicked something and suddenly I'm hearing the noises from the background like beach waves or something. "Hi Pare!" masiglang sambit ng nasa kabilang linya
Nanlaki ang mata ko! I can't be wrong! That's Zeke talking. I was about to talk when Elmo motioned me to hold it. Mukhang may iniisip na kalokohan. At ano daw? Pare? What the hell is with that endearment?
"Hey pare. How are you enjoying the beach?" casual na tanong ni Elmo. Deep down I'm already tearing up. The way he talks to Zeke, that means they did know each other for some time. Hindi pa din nag si-sink in ang pagtawag nila sa isa't-isa ng pare
"Yes, pare. Mom isn't answering her phone. Do you think she's fine right now?" maliit na sabi nito
Elmo looked at me again "Maybe she's busy right now? What do you think?" he wiggled his eyebrows while saying that
"She might be. She usually calls when Kuya and I wake up. I'm worried, pare. Should I be worried? Kuya has his iPad right now trying to call mommy too. He's with lolo, lola, papa lolo and mama lola" then I remembered, naiwan ko nga pala ang phone ko sa kwarto! And when he mentioned about lolo and lola, I knew he was talking about Elmo's parents
So it's true, huh? They are all together. Hindi nga pala ako nakakapaglibot pa kaya hindi ko alam kung totoong nandito sila

No wonder why mom and dad have both been lying! Dahil pala magkakasama sila! And that's why Mrs Arroyo was not there sa office. Dahil pala kasama niya ang mga anak ko!
"Where is utol? Is he beside you?" utol? Is that his endearment with Jack? What the hell? Why don't I have an endearment with my kids?

At tama nga ako, later on, narinig ko ang pag tsk ni Jack sa kabilang linya. Mukhang asar na dahil hindi ko sinasagot ang tawag ko. I was about to get up to go back to our room to get my phone when Elmo gently grabbed my hand kaya napaupo ako sa hita niya
I blushed instantly when he did that! Napatingin sa amin ang mga bagong dating at nagngingitian! Shit I forgot about Elmo being THE vocalist of THE West Side. Buti nalang at wala silang dalang mga camera. They were just looking at us. Well too much for PDA
I tried standing up, pero his grip was strong kaya hindi na ako umalma
"Hey utol" matigas ang accent ni Jack when he said that Filipino word. I can also see his brows being creased together because of the way he's talking right now
"Hey utol. How are you?" he started to play with my palm. He was drawing circles on them. I tried shooing his hand away, but he keeps on continuing so I just let him
"I'm good, dad. You?"
"I'm good. How are you enjoying the beach?"
"Tol, mom isn't answering her phone. I've tried calling a few times and she still hasn't picked up. Should I tell our grandparents to go back to our house to check on her?" nanlaki ang mata ko. This is by far the longest sentence I've heard from him
