Chapter 16

Jean's POV :

That was such a wonderful evening! Who would have thought that Ray could be such a gentleman with a nerd like me?

He drove me to a nice cafe, treated me with all the chocolate delicacies, drove me back to the school and made sure that I got in and started my car properly. He also insisted upon dropping me home but I refused.

Well, we wouldn't want him to know too much about my life now, do we?

And after we paid the bill and got out of the cafe, he held my hand and walked me out! I fumed so bad that I was on the verge of exploding!

He was so funny and sweet. A complete flirt I'm telling you! But there is something which bugged me very bad. All the time I was in the cafe with Ray, I felt like someone was watching me. I tried to look but there was no one there. I just hope that none of my past enemies caught up on me off guard. I just hope the past will not repeat again.

But still, I walked to the school, still in a bliss about yesterday and went to my locker. I wanna see Ray again! Soon! And thd best part is, we have the same first period!

"Hey nerd! Day dreaming, are you now?"

Whoop! Bitch alert!

Note to self: Don't go into a bitch fit again. You are in the middle of the most crowded hallway in the school with many people watching you. Let her win for now. We will strangle her later.

I rolled my eyes at her and picked the books and files from my locker. She wantedly pulled out my papers and scattered them all on the floor.

"Oops! My hand slipped!" she pouted, which made me gag.

I took in a long breath, trying to control my temper, not wanting to throw a temper tantrum here in the hallway.

"Kate! Why don't you mind your own business!" Arch yelled, picking up my papers on the way and giving it to me.

"Oh look! The loser body guard is here!" she smirked and her minions laughed.

No Jean, you are not gonna break her nose; not today.

"Whatever Kate, just get away from her. Why do you keep picking on her every single time?" he frowned.

"Revenge loser. You won't understand it," she rolled her eyes. "Why do you try to keep protecting this nerd everytime? Don't you understand that you are bringing your reputation lower and lower every single day? Stay away from her. You might as well get a life!"

"If this-" he pointed to his minions, "is what life is called, I don't need it. I'm satisfied being the so-called-loser I am."

"Your wish. That was just an advice," she rolled her eyes, "you will never fit in as one of us. You are better off as a loser anyway. And you nerd-" she glared at me, "stay outta my way."

And with this she made her signature hair flip and walked away with her minions with an extra sway in her hips which got all the guys attention.

I sighed shrugging and turned to face Arch, "hey bud! Thanks for standing up for me - again!"

"What are friends for?" he smiled.

He is the sweetest guy alive on this planet. Why Arch, why are you so nice to me?

"Hey, you know what? Kate is right, maybe you should stop being friends with me and go hang out with them. Who'd know, even you will be one of the jocks!" I shrugged.

"I have a better idea!" he exclaimed, "why don't I dig a hole for myself, go in there and rot the rest of my life?"

"Arch..."
